1. Step 1: Upload Everything You Can Find

Before asking a single question upload every source related to your subject. Lecture slides, textbooks, past exam papers, research articles, YouTube transcript links, anything. The more you give NotebookLM the more powerful every single prompt becomes. Quality of input determines quality of output.

2. Step 2: Map the Entire Subject in One Prompt

Open NotebookLM and start with this prompt:

"What are the 5 core concepts that every expert in this subject must understand before anything else? For each concept give me a plain language explanation, why it matters and how it connects to the other 4 concepts."

This gives you the skeleton of the entire subject in minutes instead of weeks.

3. Step 3: Find the Gaps Examiners Test On

After mapping the subject ask NotebookLM this:

"What are the 3 areas in this subject where students most commonly make mistakes or show shallow understanding? For each area explain what deep understanding actually looks like versus surface level memorization."

This is what separates students who pass from students who excel.

4. Step 4: Build Your Exam Preparation With Claude

Take everything NotebookLM gave you and paste it into Claude with this prompt:

"You are a university professor who has been examining students on this subject for 20 years. Here is the full subject map and the key concepts: [PASTE NOTEBOOKLM OUTPUT]. Generate 20 exam questions that test deep understanding not memorization. Range from straightforward to genuinely difficult. For each question tell me what a perfect answer looks like and what a failing answer looks like."

5. Step 5: Test Yourself and Fix Every Gap

Take the 20 exam questions Claude generated and answer every single one without looking at your notes. Then paste your answers back into Claude with this prompt:

"Here are my answers to the exam questions: [PASTE YOUR ANSWERS]. Grade each one honestly. For every wrong or incomplete answer explain exactly what I misunderstood, what the correct thinking is and point me to where in the source material I can fix this gap right now."

Repeat this until every answer is correct.

6. Step 6: Simulate the Real Exam With Claude

24 hours before your exam paste everything into Claude and run this final prompt:

"You are my exam professor. I have 48 hours to prepare for an exam on this subject. Here is everything I have studied: [PASTE YOUR FULL NOTES AND ANSWERS]. Give me a final mock exam with 10 questions under timed conditions. After I answer grade me and tell me the 3 things I still need to review before I walk into that exam room tomorrow."

This is the closest thing to sitting in front of your actual professor before the real thing.

NotebookLM Prompt 2:
"Where do students most commonly show shallow understanding and what does deep understanding actually look like in each area?"

NotebookLM Prompt 3:
"Generate 10 questions that would immediately reveal whether someone truly understands this subject or just memorized facts."

Claude Prompt 1:
"Generate 20 exam questions ranging from straightforward to difficult. For each tell me what a perfect answer and a failing answer looks like."

Claude Prompt 2 after answering:
"Grade my answers honestly. For every wrong answer explain what I misunderstood and where to fix it."

Claude Prompt 3 final:
"Give me a final mock exam and after I answer tell me the 3 things I still need to review before tomorrow."

عدد المرات اللي تقدر تكلم فيها النموذج خلال دقيقة؛ مثال: تقدر تبعث له 30 رسالة في دقيقة واحدة قبل ما يوقفك.

RPD (Requests Per Day)
إجمالي عدد الرسائل اللي تقدر تبعثها في اليوم؛ مثال: لو الحد 1000 تقدر تستخدمو 1000 مرة يوميًا ثم يتقفل لليوم التالي.

TPM (Tokens Per Minute)
كمية الكلام (مدخلات + ردود) المسموح بيها كل دقيقة؛ مثال: كتابة مقال طويل جدًا ممكن تستهلك الحد في رسالة أو اثنين.

TPD (Tokens Per Day)
إجمالي كمية النصوص المسموح بيها في اليوم؛ مثال: تقدر تعمل شاتات كثيرة قصيرة أو شوية محادثات طويلة لغاية نهاية الحصة.
