Who started the issue that Russia wants to build an air base in Biak Island in Indonesia? It is against the law in Indonesia. This is already quite a sensation. But I believe that it will not happen.

Happy Easter, Sunday, 20 April, 2025 for all of my Christian friends who belong to Western or Eastern Christianity. ✝️☦️🥚🐇

Requiscat in pace (rest in peace), Pope Francis (17 December, 1936 - 21 April, 2025). Pope Francis, whose real name is Jorge Mario Bergoglio, was the 266th head of the Roman Catholic Church and the 8th head of the Vatican City State. He was the first Jesuit pope and also the first from the American continent, specifically South America (Argentina). In addition, he was the 11th non-European pope after Gregory III from Syria.

Throughout his public life, Francis was known for his humility, emphasis on God's mercy, international visibility as pope, concern for the poor, and commitment to interreligious dialogue. For that reason too, he was also the least formal pope so far. As a Jesuit pope, he was pontificating in a new way, making it clear that a fundamental task of the faithful is not so much to follow rules but to discern what God is calling them to do.

Politically, Pope Francis was seen to be a progressive and liberal pope, perhaps the most so far. He assured that the Catholic Church should be more open to the LGBTQ+ community. He criticised capitalism, consumerism and the rise of right-wing populism during his papacy. Lastly, he convened the Synod of Synodality in 2024 which was seen as the most important event since the Second Vatican Council and the peak of his papacy.

May the legacy of Pope Francis endure, not only for the Roman Catholic Church but for all of Christianity and the world. Hopefully the next pope can continue to maintain what Pope Francis has done during his papacy. Eternal rest grant onto him and let the perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace.

Françoise Hardy (17 January, 1944 - 11 June, 2024), French singer-songwriter, actress, model, author and astrologer. She was a French cultural icon, especially in 1960s, and one of the greatest figures in French music. She was also one of the leading figures of yé-yé movement.

She was very inspiring to me. She was one of the reasons to learn about French language and culture. I was sad when she died in 2024, it's mainly because i've only known her for a few years and I already really like her.

I love almost all of her songs, very touching my feelings, mostly melancholic and plaintive. From her, I know the other French songs from 1960s, love it. Since her musical career began in 1962, she had released 32 studio albums, 29 compilation albums and 116 singles.

Françoise Hardy, je l'aime, j'adore ses œuvres et sa personnalité. Un jour, si je vais en France, je ferai certainement un pèlerinage sur sa tombe. In this photo Françoise Hardy was photographed by Angelo Frontoni in 1965.

Happy International Mother Earth Day, 22 April, 2025. 2025 Theme: "Our Power, Our Planet". This theme is a message to all parties to unite around renewable energy for the better and sustainable future. This is the 55th Earth Day since the first celebration in 1970.

The production and use of renewable energy transcends economic systems, political borders and political parties, demonstrating a universal appeal. Let us work together on this, we can do this as small as possible. We have a pathway to providing virtually unlimited, low-cost energy to everyone.

We have achieved a lot of achievements so far in this thing:

1. Today over 50% of Denmark’s electricity is generated from wind turbines and by 2026, wind energy will power 30% of the electricity needs of Spain, 17% of the electricity needs of the Netherlands, and 23% of the electricity needs of Germany.
2. In Brazil hydro-electric accounted for nearly 68% of its total electricity generation in 2023. In Italy hydro-electric accounts for 23% of the total electricity generation and is growing, and in Netherlands it accounts for 16%.
3. Kenya is a leader in Africa, with geothermal power accounting for nearly half of its electricity generation. Geothermal can be beneficial for the electrical grid, as it puts less strain on it and can help mitigate blackouts. Geothermal also emits 97% less acid rain-causing compounds and 99% less carbon dioxide.
4. PRC and the U.S. are both making massive investments in renewable energy. PRC is the largest producer world in both wind and solar, with twice as much capacity under construction as the rest of the world combined in 2024.

The strength of this movement lies in its grassroots nature, and our power as individuals. Support and adopt the rapid transition to renewable energy sources now, like solar, wind, hydro-electric, tidal or geothermal.

People's power at the grassroots has always been at the heart of Earth Day. It is the catalyst for paradigm-shifting change because when individuals unite with a common purpose, they can overcome even the strongest systems, really.

Every time you eat be grateful for it because hundreds of millions of people are still starving now. Be grateful for whatever food you have, no matter how much it is. This is a basic human need that no human being throughout history can deny.

Happy International Workers' Day, 1 May, 2025! Workers of the world, unite! ☭☭☭

This picture is a Soviet postcard for International Workers' Day, designed by E. Kvavadze, 1979. Printed at Printing Office of Ministry of Communication of Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR).

On this postcard there are many colourful balloons flying with some ribbons on the strings and below it there is the planet Earth. There is a writing "Peace! Labour! May!" in Russian. The background of this postcard is blue with some gradation around the planet Earth. These colourful balloons rising up from the planet Earth create atmosphere of peace and hope.
