Happy International Day of Peace, 21 September, 2025. 2025 Theme: "Act Now for a Peaceful World". We all know of course that peace is not just a vision but also action, the action of peace itself. There are many ways to act in our current modern world, and I'm doing it through the internet.

It is a matter of course for everyone to maintain peace. All our efforts now are connected. No matter how small it is, whatever form it takes, it is important. Together with the United Nations, we can all create a peaceful world for the common good of humanity.

Educate yourself about peace, say no to violence, practice understanding and solidarity, report bullying and harassment, protest inequality and discrimination, embrace inclusion and diversity, support peace advocates, follow reliable news sources, and post with care on social media. ☮️🕊️

We hope that all armed conflicts and wars will now end, especially those in Western Asia and Eastern Europe. All wars are evil and never wanted in the first place. Never stop speaking out about those who are being attacked and the impact it has on their lives.

I'm so happy today and you know why.
Happy World Tourism Day, 27 September, 2025. 2025 Theme: "Tourism and Sustainable Transformation". If perhaps many people think that tourism is just for pleasure, but actually it is more than that. It is also a driving force for social progress, delivering education, employment and creating new opportunities for all.

There is a lot, perhaps even countless, tourism potential in all countries, but many of them are not managed sustainably. Sustainable tourism transformation requires effective governance and people-centered planning.

This year's host country is Malaysia in Southeast Asia. 🇲🇾

Ah, Spotify is quite useful somehow, although I rarely listen to music there. I prefer YouTube more than Spotify.
Happy International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste (IDAFLW), 29 September, 2025. 2025 Theme: "Stop food loss and waste. For the people. For our planet." Reducing food loss and waste is very important, whether in the short term or long term, especially with a growing global population and the fact that more than 700 million people are starving now.

Food loss and waste undermine the sustainability of our food systems. When food is lost or wasted, all the resources that were used to produce this food - including water, land, energy, labour and capital - go to waste. In addition, the disposal of food loss and waste in landfills, leads to greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to climate change.

Food loss and waste can also negatively impact food security and food availability, and contribute to increasing the cost of food. Every action taken to reduce food loss and food waste matters. I personally have been doing this since I was a child.

#InternationalDayofAwarenessofFoodLossandFoodWaste
Please be aware that currently there are:

1. An estimated 13.2 percent of food – the equivalent of 1.25 billion tonnes – was lost globally after harvest and prior to reaching retail shelves in 2021 (FAO, 2023).
2. An estimated 19 percent of food – the equivalent of 1.05 billion tonnes – was wasted in households, food service and retail in 2022 (UNEP, 2024).
3. Households account for 60 percent of global food waste (UNEP, 2024).
4. Approximately 28.9 percent of the global population – 2.33 billion people – were moderately or severely food insecure in 2023 (FAO et al., 2024).
5. One out of eleven people in the world faced hunger in 2023 (FAO et al., 2024).
6. Food loss and waste generate 8 to 10 percent of global GHG emissions (IPCC, 2019).
All parties must be aware of this: consumers, civil society, businesses, academia, and governments. Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) and United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) are the leading agencies for this day. Learn about all the materials they have prepared and use them for free to spread the need to be more responsible in food production and consumption.
Happy International Translation Day, 30 September, 2025. 2025 Theme: "Translation, Shaping a Future You Can Trust". Where there is a lot of distrust now due to hatred or anything else, remember that translations can always be generally trusted.

Based on the UN General Assembly Resolution 78/266, this year, 2025, is the International Year of Peace and Trust. It recognised the need to prevent and resolve conflict through dialogue and diplomacy. While the translators and interpreters in global negotiations may not be visible, we know that such high-level conversations could not happen without them and could certainly not be entrusted to technology, like AI.

You know, my studies in my university is about translation so of course this day is important for me. I learned that no matter how advanced machine translation technology is, in one way or another, their translations may not be correct, or even if they are correct, they may not have the proper context.
I'm not saying that we cannot use machine translation like Google Translate or even abandon them. In fact, they are very helpful for translators, but of course their translations should be checked. I use them a lot, really, and I have found so many mistakes they made. Therefore, the translations of translators and interpreters can always be generally trusted.

Huh, poor you, America. You are the only developed country that still has the government shutdown phenomenon. It is very bad indeed.

Based on my personal experience, okay, economics students understand politics better than political students themselves, hehe.
