Selama delapan puluh satu tahun ini, kita bersyukur bahwa keutuhan republik ini masih terjaga, terutama keutuhan wilayahnya, termasuk bagian barat Pulau Papua. Sungguh ini adalah berkat persatuan nasional yang telah lama masyarakat kita bangun, dalam apapun aspeknya.

Kita telah merdeka dan kita telah bersatu namun tidak boleh hanya berhenti di situ saja. Kita harus mengisi kemerdekaan ini melalui pembangunan nasional yang baik yang menyeluruh untuk seluruh rakyat. Hanya dengan itu kita dapat benar-benar berdaulat, adil, dan makmur. Dengan itu dikatakan, pembangunan nasional itu harus direncanakan dengan baik, tidak hanya untuk modal fisik tapi juga modal manusia, dan malahan modal manusia itu yang harus diutamakan. Itu juga harus berkelanjutan, berjangka panjang, termasuk menjaga keseimbangan dengan alam.

Marilah kita rakyat Indonesia selalu bersatu, bersama membangun masyarakat, bangsa, dan negara demi terwujudnya peradaban Indonesia yang lebih maju daripada sebelumnya. Tak satu pun bagian dari republik ini akan menjadi sesuatu dan tidak berarti apa-apa jika kita tidak bersatu. Secara pribadi aku mengharapkan dan mengusahakan yang terbaik, untuk menciptakan masyarakat, bangsa, dan negara Indonesia yang lebih sosialis berdasarkan Pancasila. Sekali merdeka tetap merdeka! I often imagine that I lived in the 1960s, it's fun. The 1960s always fascinated me, especially its technology. Take a look at the picture, do you know what those things are? Television and radio may be obvious but the others are a reel-to-reel tape recorder and a turntable.

If I imagine me and my girlfriend in the room in the picture, I wouldn't say either of us merely pretending, but it's like back to 1960s, enjoying the moment together because we genuinely love the atmosphere. So, we both love it, we share the same fascination.

She is the one holding the microphone, enthusiastically recording her beautiful voices onto the tape recorder while I'm sitting beside her. You know, we might spend an entire evening with this and talking about what life must have been like when all these things were new.
