A short hymn praising Taranis that i composed. -Cathal
This is what the longest chapters of my book are about. The one thing missing from this analysis is that Etain and Caer seem to be Aine’s sister or doubles in some sense, all Sun Princesses in an interlinked triple wedding mythos.
Caer’s name (“Yew Berry”) even ties her to the red berries that Gwilym mentions here as their symbols, the tears of the sun.

The key to the Celtic Creation Myth is to realize that Eriu (namesake of Ireland) is the Irish Mother Earth. It makes sense via microcosm = macrocosm and I’ve presented a lot of other proof (see my articles on Bres’ conception and on the Creation Myth.)

Eriu has two sisters, also names of Ireland. The triple Mother Earth here marries 3 brothers.

Who can the triple husband of the triple Mother Earth be?
It can be none other than Sky, the mirrored match of Earth in IE myth.

The marriage of triple Earth and their triple husbands is violently disrupted by 3 brothers.

The violent ending of the marriage of Earth and Sky is then the “dividing” of Earth and Sky, exactly as with Cronus separating Ouranos and Gaia or Odin splitting Ymir into Earth and Sky.

The marriage of Eriu and her sisters to their 3 husbands (Mac Greine et al.) is violently ended by 3 brothers: Eber Finn, Amergin and Erimon.

The chief among these should then be equivalent to Cronus or Odin, the dividers of Sky-Earth. Just as in the Norse case it is a set of 3 brothers.

The chief brother here is “Eber” Finn, a version of the god Finn.

Finn, the Irish mystical “mannerbund” (=fiana) god with the spear that never misses and the two loyal hunting dogs, who gains power of prophecy by fasting under a magical tree, and who in his alt form “Fintan” has one eye plucked out, is indeed the equivalent of Odin, and of Cronus.

The dividing of Earth and Sky is the climax of the IE Creation Myth, and we have it as clear as day in the violent ending of the marriage of Eriu, Mother Earth, by Finn.

When you trace back from the birth of Eber Finn you encounter the earlier layers of the Creation Myth, including the emergence of the cosmic tree god (Bile) and his father the tower god, Breoghan, in a role equivalent to Brahman.

The Birth of Fionn mac Cumhaill: The Secret Heart of The Celtic Creation Myth

What is the story of the birth of Fionn mac Cumhaill, the Irish Rudra-Siva, really about?
Who is Fionn's father Cumhaill, illicit impregnator of Muirne, and who is Fionn's grandfather Tadg, lord of the sacred mound and of towers?

And can this tale reveal yet a deeper layer of the Celtic Creation Myth, going right to the heart of cosmic mystery?
