A short hymn praising Taranis that i composed. -Cathal
This is what the longest chapters of my book are about. The one thing missing from this analysis is that Etain and Caer seem to be Aine’s sister or doubles in some sense, all Sun Princesses in an interlinked triple wedding mythos.
Caer’s name (“Yew Berry”) even ties her to the red berries that Gwilym mentions here as their symbols, the tears of the sun.

The key to the Celtic Creation Myth is to realize that Eriu (namesake of Ireland) is the Irish Mother Earth. It makes sense via microcosm = macrocosm and I’ve presented a lot of other proof (see my articles on Bres’ conception and on the Creation Myth.)
Eriu has two sisters, also names of Ireland. The triple Mother Earth here marries 3 brothers.
Who can the triple husband of the triple Mother Earth be?
It can be none other than Sky, the mirrored match of Earth in IE myth.
The marriage of triple Earth and their triple husbands is violently disrupted by 3 brothers.
The violent ending of the marriage of Earth and Sky is then the “dividing” of Earth and Sky, exactly as with Cronus separating Ouranos and Gaia or Odin splitting Ymir into Earth and Sky.
The marriage of Eriu and her sisters to their 3 husbands (Mac Greine et al.) is violently ended by 3 brothers: Eber Finn, Amergin and Erimon.
The chief among these should then be equivalent to Cronus or Odin, the dividers of Sky-Earth. Just as in the Norse case it is a set of 3 brothers.
The chief brother here is “Eber” Finn, a version of the god Finn.
Finn, the Irish mystical “mannerbund” (=fiana) god with the spear that never misses and the two loyal hunting dogs, who gains power of prophecy by fasting under a magical tree, and who in his alt form “Fintan” has one eye plucked out, is indeed the equivalent of Odin, and of Cronus.
The dividing of Earth and Sky is the climax of the IE Creation Myth, and we have it as clear as day in the violent ending of the marriage of Eriu, Mother Earth, by Finn.
When you trace back from the birth of Eber Finn you encounter the earlier layers of the Creation Myth, including the emergence of the cosmic tree god (Bile) and his father the tower god, Breoghan, in a role equivalent to Brahman.

The Birth of Fionn mac Cumhaill: The Secret Heart of The Celtic Creation Myth
What is the story of the birth of Fionn mac Cumhaill, the Irish Rudra-Siva, really about?
Who is Fionn's father Cumhaill, illicit impregnator of Muirne, and who is Fionn's grandfather Tadg, lord of the sacred mound and of towers?
And can this tale reveal yet a deeper layer of the Celtic Creation Myth, going right to the heart of cosmic mystery?

https://youtu.be/Cra81LsZodg A NEW VIDEO!?!?!? yes at long last ive made another video for our Celtic society series on youtube. this time delving into to Rich honour culture of the celts.
Going live on my YouTube channel in about 10 minutes to discuss one of the most willfully misunderstood Indo-European deities: Father Sky (Vedic Dyaus) as well as Mother Earth
We discussed Fachtna and Ness' parentage of Conchobar in our stream on Sunday
Conchobar is Prajapati, the embryo of the cosmic egg. Ness is Vak-Devi, who is the creatrix alongside the Purusha who forms the cosmic egg in SB 6.1.1:
"[Purusha] created the waters out of Vâk...He
entered the waters with that triple science [vidya]. Thence an egg arose."
Thus Ness giving birth into then pulling baby Conchobar out of a river makes sense here
But Lugaid Mac Con is clearly the Irish Purusha as a whole: he's been born from the 7 Lugaids, as Purusha is formed from 7 Purushas, and the 7 Lugaids are sons of Daire (aka Dagda, god of Wind), as the 7 Purushas arise from the Vital Air
Lugaid is in a PARALLEL lineage to Fachtna, and Fachtna (the Hostile Wise) ultimately kills Dui, who is of the clan of Daire and Lugaid
So my belief is that Fachtna and his sometimes brother Cathbad are the divine personas or active divine Intellects WITHIN the Purusha/Lugaid (also Fachtna or his grandfather Rudraige may = Indui here)
Their capturing of and consorting with Ness to father Conchobar is the creative and priestly activity of the Purusha as such which brings about the egg/Prajapati
And as Purusha is Agni (Fire) and Rudra is really the luminosity of Agni, so Fachtna, The Hostile Wise, is a blatant Rudra, who finally performs the act of "intellectual creation" by impregnating Ness as the serpent, this being the creative action of the Purusha when he touches the water with the Triple Science/Vidya
This serpent form equated with Fachtna then reminds of Chronos [Time] somewhat, who causes the cosmic egg to arise with Ananke and then causes it to open. Rudra of course is Kala, Time, in some references, so this is possible
I also don't see a problem with equating him with Ophion
If Fachtna and Cathbad are personas within or astride the Purusha, then it's interesting that Fachtna's father is Ross, "Knowledge". The Purusha has to make Trayi-Vidya manifest in order to create the Egg, Vidya meaning literally "Knowledge". So, I have to wonder if Ross or his son who embodies Wisdom and is his continuer, and who enters the picture in order to finally impregnate Ness after Cathbad has "tamed" her in some sense, is in the same position as the Trayi-Vidya of the Purusha creation.
The Trayi-Vidya is also called the Brahman and is the 3 Vedas, thus if this was true we would have an Irish instance of a Rudra "type" (Fachtna) in an equivalent position to the Veda-Brahman of the Vedic tradition, the wise one who embodies the system of divine knowledge, which is more or less the transcendent divine Logos in Greek terms, in its primordial role in creation
This whole thing gives a much better picture of who is really performing the "demiurgic" work in the creation of the cosmos: While the Purusha is = to Zeus, the Intellect within his aetheric fire is Rudraic, ie it is Cronus/Chronos-Apollo
We will be back again this Sunday at 4pm EST for Part 2 of our "Rudra type God" discussion livestream, and check the "Live" section of my channel to catch up on Part 1

Key here is that the Axial theory blatantly goes against historical record or purposely leaves its terms vague, hence why it is not taken seriously as a whole (outside of individual features, which are debated by scholars from all sides).
As a whole it’s un-historical while using vagueness as a smokescreen and claiming to be strictly a historically-based concept.
As the linked post mentions, Axial Theory has to move key parts of the “Axial shift” to the very beginning of the historical/textual record, but this invalidates the entire concept of a shift in the record, for that feature.
This is brazen and willful dishonesty in the case of the Rig Veda, our oldest intact Indo-European theological document, which has so-called “Axial Theology” from its earliest layer on.
RV 3.55.1 (from the “family books” or earliest layer) reads:
“Then when the ancient dawns dawned forth, in the track of the cow a great imperishable (syllable) was born [/ was discerned],
which tends to the commandments of the gods: great is the one and only lordship of the gods.”
As the translators Jamison and Brereton state of this hymn:
“The most obvious feature of this hymn is the refrain found in every verse: “great is the one and only lordship of the gods,” notable for its emphasis on unity (ékam “one and only” is the final word of each verse) and for the juxtaposition and implied identity of asura(tvám) “lord(ship)” and devā́nām “gods,” given that in later Vedic the Asuras and the Devas are locked in eternal enmity.
This familiar Vedic mystery of simultaneous unity and diversity is further exemplified by the references to numerous gods (generally unnamed, but usually recognizable), especially in the second part of the hymn, in the manner of many All God hymns.”
A syllable that is Imperishable, found in the Boundless, which tends the One Lordship of the gods?
This is peak supposed Axial mysticism, but characterizes the Rig Veda from its beginning.
The word for the imperishable syllable here (akshara) is a synonym of Brahman in the rest of the corpus (see: AUM), and the “One” emerging from the waters as golden-egg/embryo in Book 10 is called Tad Ekam (That One), using the same word for the gods’ single Lordship here.
I have also shown several instances in Book 5 (see: 5.3) and others where Agni (Fire) is said to be all of the gods and all of the gods to be within him, this once again being from the Family Books layer of the Rig Veda.
These instances alone invalidate foundational portions of the historical frame of Axial Theory, but of course I have shown much more regarding the Skambha or Brahman Pillar, which also is referenced in passing in the Family Books (under the name “skambha (pillar) of heaven”), and fully explicated in Atharvaveda.
All of this demonstrates that the historical basis of the Axial Theory is not only invalidated by the facts on the ground, but begins from a dishonest standpoint of wanting a certain conclusion to be true and being willing to move facts around and ignore evidence to try to reach that pre-determined conclusion.
More honest folks would at least say “we don’t know if the Axial Theology was anything new from the earliest records we have and thus we don’t know if there was any Axial shift at all as it is described.”
But this would render Axial Theory useless as a firm base to call others names from, so the flaccid act is pumped continually with hot air to keep the grift rolling.
These people don’t have an interest in finding historical or theological truth.
Pseudo-history of this sort is a dead end because it is simply not based in reality.
