On July 25, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi became India’s second longest-serving PM in an uninterrupted term, surpassing Indira Gandhi’s record of 4,077 days with his 4,078th day in office. Nehru remains the longest at 16 years. Modi is the first non-Congress leader to win three consecutive Lok Sabha majorities (2014, 2019, 2024) and has led Gujarat and India for nearly 24 years. His tenure is marked by strong electoral dominance, making him the longest-serving PM from a non-Hindi state and born post-Independence.

At 5:10 AM on July 26, reporters received an update on the clash between Thai and Cambodian soldiers along the border, now entering its third day.
Cambodian soldiers opened a new front, attacking Thai soldiers at 5:10 AM in the Baan Chamrak area of Trat Province. Soldiers from the Chanthaburi and Trat Border Defense Forces retaliated, initiating the clash.
The Royal Thai Navy then launched the "Trat Pikhart Pairee 1" operation to push back and destroy the areas where Cambodian soldiers had encroached on Thai territory at three points. By 5:40 AM, the naval forces had successfully pushed the Cambodian side back.
