🔸چکیده

نوشتار حاضر ترجمه‌است از مدخل «Inimitability» (همتاناپذیری) به قلم #پروفسور_ریچارد_مارتین از دایره المعارف قرآن (EQ=enyclopeadia of the quran).
نگارنده پس از گزارشی از اشتقاقات گوناگون واژه «أَعْجَز» در قرآن کریم، به زمینه بحث اعجاز در آیات قرآن و عصر نزول پرداخته و گزارشی از تاریخ تلاش های مسلمانان در حوزه اعجاز قرآن کریم ارائه کرده است. آراء و نظریات نظّام، جاحظ، باقلانی، رُمّانی، عبدالجبار، جرجانی، و معاصرین را بیان، و تأثیر و تأثّرات دیدگاه‌های آنان را بر یکدیگر گوشزد کرده است.

✳️ Historical Course of the Idea concerning the Inimitability of the Qur'an

🔸Abstract

The present writing is a translation of the entry: Inimitability by Professor Richard C. Martin from the Encyclopedia of the Qur'an. Upon elaborating various derived forms of the term u‘jaz in the Holy Qur'an, the writer proceeds to deal with the history of the idea of inimitability (i‘jāz) in the verses of the Qur'an and the Revelation time, and has presented a report about the history of the Muslims' attempts in the field of the Holy Qur'an's inimitability. He has also stated the opinions and viewpoints of Naẓẓām, Jāḥiẓ, Bāqlānī, Rummānī, ‘Abd al-Jabbār, Jurjānī, and the contemporary scholars, and has pointed out the impacts that their viewpoints have had on one another.

✳️ The Zaydi Manuscript Tradition

June 6-10, 2018, Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton, NJ

The Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton, invites applications for the first "Shii Studies Research Program" Summer School, funded by the Carnegie Corporation, New York. The scholarly exploration of Zaydism started later than is the case for most other areas of Islamic Studies. Among Western scholars, it was only towards the end of the nineteenth century that substantial collections of Zaydi manuscripts were purchased by European libraries. The first pioneers of Zaydi studies were Rudolf Strothmann who worked primarily on the Glaser collection in Berlin and who published a first survey of Zaydi literature in 1910 and 1911, and Eugenio Griffini who worked on the Caprotti collection in Milan, partial descriptions of which he began to publish around the same time. Over the course of the twentieth century, other scholars also contributed to the slowly growing field, with important contributions coming from scholars from Yemen, Egypt, and Iran.
Despite the progress that has been made, the field is still in its infancy with many areas such as Zaydi hadith or fiqh still being completely neglected. The principal reason for this neglect has been the lack of availability of primary sources, as the Zaydi manuscript tradition is dispersed in numerous European and US libraries, this in addition to the many public and private libraries in Yemen and other Middle Eastern countries (e.g. Turkey and Saudi Arabia). In recent years digital technology has helped to improve the availability of at least parts of the Zaydi manuscript tradition. The purpose of the Summer School will be to familiarize the participants with the main fields of Zaydi studies and, most importantly, the Zaydi manuscript tradition. Over the course of the week-long summer school, the participants will be introduced to the major historical developments of Zaydi law, hadith, and religious thought and the pertinent literary genres, in addition to the political history of Zaydism in Iran and in Yemen. Each topic will be approached through an analysis of a select number of source texts in manuscript, which will also familiarize the participants with the characteristics of the Iranian and the Yemeni Zaydi manuscript tradition.
The summer school is open to PhD students and PostDocs. Applications, which should include a CV, brief statement on current research project, and letter of motivation, should be submitted by March 31, 2018. Successful applicants will be notified by April 15, 2018. Their travel expenses (economy) as well as accommodation and board will be covered through the "Shii Studies Reseach Program" (www.ias.edu/ssrp).

🔺Abstract

Despite its importance for Shīʿites and other Muslims, the story of the death of Ḥusayn b. ʿAlī at Karbala in 61/680 is clearly under-researched. So, for example, except for Borrut (2015) hardly any of the previous studies made have compared different versions of the story and attempted to set a relative date to them. Such a study is necessary in order to map the development of the Karbalāʾ story and the image of Ḥusayn in the emergence of Shīʿite ideology. In this paper I will discuss the relative date of two important versions of the Karbala story related by Ṭabarī: one, relatively short and lacking in detail, is ascribed to Imam al-Bāqir (d. 114/732); the other, much longer and more detailed, is compiled by Abū Mikhnaf (d. 157/774). Studies in other fields, such as “historical Jesus-studies,” have shown that brevity and lack of details is not a certain criterion for old age of a version of a story; in order to ascertain the relative age of two versions, detailed studies have to be made and conclusions drawn from case to case. By comparing three passages in the two versions of the Karbalāʾ story: Ḥusayn’s encounter with al-Ḥurr; Ḥusayn’s attempt to negotiate with the enemy; and the killing of Ḥusayn’s baby boy, I hope to demonstrate that the version ascribed to al-Bāqir is indeed the older of the two, although its authorship cannot be established with certainty. I will also share some thoughts about the historicity of the events described in the three passages analyzed.

همچنان که پیش از این بیان شد (شاید) برای اولین بار در تاریخ مسجد قبا یک مبلغ فعال اهل سنت که خود امام مسجدی در شمال نامیبیا است (چند ماه قبل) به مکتب اهل بیت پیوست. و این اتفاق خشم وهابیون که بر روی وی سرمایه‌گذاری کرده بودند برانگیخت و باعث شد آشکارا در نماز جمعه و کنفرانس هایشان علیه شیعه سخنرانی کنند.
در این چند ماه تلاش شد تا وی که پیش از این یک سال در عربستان دوره دیده، دوره ای نیز در ایران ببیند ....
پس از پیگیری های فراوان، با همکاری دوستان، جامعه المصطفی با یک دوره یک ماهه که 15 فروردین شروع میشود موافقت نمود.

⬅️ اما هزینه بلیط رفت و برگشت برعهده خود اوست که عملا این سفر را منتفی میکند، زیرا مسجد قبا توان حمایت مالی ندارد. پیگیری از برخی نهادهای مربوطه نیز با توجه به تعطیلات به نتیجه نرسید.
بنابراین اگر خیر یا نهادی میتواند در تهیه بلیط یا هزینه آن کمک نماید، به آیدی @ebnosiam اطلاع دهد.

متاسفانه به دلیل عدم حمایت مناسب، احتمالا این سفر لغو خواهد شد.
