Amid chants of “Allahu Akbar,” members of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Interior of the de facto authority—under the leadership of Abu Mohammad al-Jolani (Ahmad al-Sharaa)—carried out mass, point-blank field executions of civilians and detainees from the Kurdish community. These crimes were perpetrated with the participation of tribal groups loyal to the authority, as well as foreign fighters referred to as “Muhajireen al-Ansar” and members of the Grey Wolves.

These acts were accompanied by the burning of victims’ bodies, the cutting off of ears, mutilation of corpses, and the counting of bodies after they were burned—along with other forms of brutal abuse—constituting grave and blatant violations of all humanitarian laws.

Video footage shows perpetrators—some speaking Turkish—openly boasting about their atrocities after carrying out killings and burnings in the most brutal ways. They are heard using mocking language, obscene insults, and racist slurs against the Kurdish people, including dehumanizing terms such as “pigs” and “atheists.” This constitutes open incitement to violence and genocide and reflects a clear criminal intent rooted in ethnic and religious hatred, in scenes that demonstrate an advanced level of systematic violence and deliberate stripping of human dignity.

These elements, whose structure and ideological formation trace back to ISIS, committed these crimes in a manner consistent with atrocities previously documented in the Suwayda massacres, the Syrian coast, and other parts of Syria.

This documentation is classified as grave violations and war crimes that warrant the opening of an independent international investigation and the accountability of all those involved—including commanders and direct perpetrators—as well as anyone who provided cover, facilitation, or support; participated in incitement; concealed the crimes; or failed to prevent them despite having the legal and practical capacity to do so.
