Xperia 1 VIII still has its front camera in the bezels instead of punch-hole, thus continuing the legacy.

KernelScript: A Programming Language For Kernel Customization & App Optimizations
Phoronix
KernelScript is a domain-specific
open-source programming language that unifies eBPF, userspace, and kernel extension development in a single, type-safe source file. It introduces multi-target compilation, automatic tail-call orchestration, transparent map and dynptr handling, lifecycle-safe program loading/attaching, and built-in kfunc support that generates kernel module scaffolding automatically.
Those wanting to learn more about KernelScript can find the presentation assets via the OSS 2026 presentation page. The KernelScript code is hosted on GitHub.
