'Butcher of Kandahar' shot down over Strait of Hormuz

🔹The IRGC announced that after destroying a large portion of US MQ-9 drones, American MQ-1 drones are now also being hunted in the Strait of Hormuz.

🔹An MQ-1 was intercepted and destroyed by the IRGC Aerospace Force's advanced defense system under the country's integrated air defense network.

🔹Notably, this drone—known as the "Butcher of Kandahar" for logging 20,000 flight hours over Afghanistan—had been retired from US Navy and Air Force combat units in favor of the MQ-9. But with most MQ-9s destroyed, the US has been forced to bring the MQ-1 back into service.

🔹Acting Defense Minister Brigadier General Ibn al-Reza, marking Sacred Defence Week, said the occasion symbolizes a nation's will that created an enduring epic in defense of independence and territorial integrity.

🔹"A key legacy of the Sacred Defence was turning threats into opportunities to build indigenous capabilities and achieve self-sufficiency," he said.

🔹He stressed Iran's defense industry relies on its youth, scientists, and elites, using battlefield experience to advance technology.

Army chief: We will not hesitate for a moment in defending Iran

🔹Army Commander-in-Chief Major General Amir Hatami, in a message marking Sacred Defence Week, said the Iranian nation once again stood united against enemy aggression, with the Armed Forces defending the country's integrity through faith, experience, and indigenous capability.

🔹"The Armed Forces stand with full vigilance and readiness and will not hesitate for a moment in defending the independence, security, and territorial integrity of dear Iran," he said.

Pakistan's Interior Minister arrives in Tehran, welcomed by Momeni

🔹Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi arrived in Tehran on Monday and was welcomed by Iran's Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni.

🔹The visit aims to discuss bilateral relations and review the provisions of the agreement signed between the two countries' senior officials.

🔹Naqvi's trip follows his earlier visit in August and continues high-level exchanges between Tehran and Islamabad on security, border cooperation, and economic ties.

🔹Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni, speaking after meeting Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, said the visit aimed to follow up on agreements from previous trips.

🔹"Given the good relations, part of our bilateral agreements is being implemented—including raising trade from $3 billion to $10 billion, a short- and medium-term goal," he said.

🔹During the Pakistan trip, it was agreed to make existing borders 24/7 operational to boost trade volume, with a new crossing to open at Kouhak. The railway route is also being pursued to enable direct trains.

🔹Naqvi is scheduled to meet other Iranian officials during his visit.
