Araghchi: Hormuz will reopen if US fulfills Iran's conditions

๐Ÿ”นSpeaking on the sidelines of the OIC foreign ministers' meeting in Baghdad, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Iran's conditions are "completely clear" and were presented to the US in a seven-point plan.

๐Ÿ”น"If there is genuine sincerity on the American sideโ€”which currently doesn't existโ€”there is a clear path to reopening the Strait of Hormuz. If our conditions are met, the Strait will reopen on the sixth day, and negotiations will begin on the seventh," he said.

๐Ÿ”น"These conditions are not extraordinaryโ€”they are commitments the US itself previously made in the MoU. If Washington has the will, it can implement them within days."

๐Ÿ”นOn Yemen, Araghchi warned Iran may disassociate itself from the resolution if fairness and balance are not observed, saying discussions with Saudi Arabia and other states are ongoing.

๐Ÿ”น"We bow to no threats and are ready to defend ourselves, while remaining ready for honorable diplomacy," he concluded.

France in a web of problems partly fueled by the war on Iran

France saw its worst unrest in years: 550,000โ€“800,000 demonstrators, ~1,800 arrested, and Limoges town hall burned. Student protests over teacher shortages merged with fuel-price anger after Hormuz's closure. With Macron's approval at 15%, a Le Figaro poll shows 62% back the students. Iran's FM noted the double standard in France's response.
