The Terrible Tehran?

In my youth, I read "The Terrible Tehran"—a city of fear and mystery. When I arrived, I found something entirely different.

Yes, I saw war's wounds: photographs of victims along the roadside, shattered classrooms at Sharif University. But I also saw a modern metropolis with bustling streets and a resilient people.

Thousands gathered in mourning—grief mixed with firmness. Working alongside journalists from different lands, we agreed on one truth: war has no winners.

I left Tehran carrying this: buildings can be destroyed, but a nation's will cannot. This is a people who still have much to say to the world .
