The Politics of Anti-Semitism: Europe's Historical Record and Iran's Jewish Community

Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei argues anti-Semitism is essentially a European phenomenon, citing expulsions from England (1290), France (1306), Spain (1492), and Portugal (1496โ€“97), Talmud burnings, and Black Death massacres. He contrasts this with Iran's 2,700-year Jewish history, roughly 100 synagogues, constitutional recognition, and a reserved parliamentary seat. The article stresses that Judaism is not Israel, and criticism of Zionism is not automatically anti-Semitic. The fight against anti-Semitism, it argues, must not become a geopolitical instrument.

Canada, a Washington Ally, Is Proving That US Is Not the Center of the World

Canada is diversifying its international relations after Trump's trade war and repeated references to Canada as the "51st state." Prime Minister Mark Carney has visited India, China, Japan, South Korea, and Europe, and is pursuing associate EU membership by June 2027. He disclosed that Ottawa examined possible US military action as an "extreme-risk scenario" and warned against dollar dependence. The article argues Trump's conductโ€”threatening allies like Canada and Denmark, and attacking Iran without consulting Europeโ€”shows no country can trust American commitments.
