🎯 Purpose: To ensure timely & full payment of wages + prevent illegal deductions & delays by employers.
🧭 Objectives of the Act
1️⃣ Ensure timely and complete wage payment
2️⃣ Stop unauthorized deductions
3️⃣ Maintain transparency in wage records
4️⃣ Provide legal remedy for wage disputes
5️⃣ Promote financial security & fairness for workers

🔹 Sec 1(4)-(5): Applies to factories, railways, notified establishments
🔹 Sec 1(6): Wage ceiling – ₹24,000/month (↑ from ₹18,000 in 2017)
🔹 Sec 3: Employer responsible for wage payment (even via contractor)
🔹 Sec 4: Wage period ≤ 1 month
🔹 Sec 5: Payment deadlines
▪ Within 7 days (< 1000 employees)
