Breaking (and not so Breaking) News.

Thought I'd extend the content here a bit with something not always React and JS related, but still within the IT industry.

Let's see if it works out. If not.. Well I just won't post it πŸ˜‚ easy peasy.

Let's start with this:

Bloomberg: Russian Hackers attacked 200 companies and got its customers data.

Recoil

If you want a simple yet powerful state management for React and would rather avoid Redux boilerplate, Recoil is perfect.

Also helps if you don't want to create your own state management with Hooks or Context.

Animation

Been using this boy for some time now - absolute pleasure to work with. Also still a fan of Framer Web as design tools especially if you can get your UI lib on it. Simplifies prototyping quite well.

Have an awesome week ahead people! Less bugs, more cool stuff to you πŸ”₯
Glassmorphism generator

That's it guys, that's what we've all been waiting for.

Curios to see all your cool super modern ultra-beautiful UIs now.

Enjoy πŸ”₯

That's probably the only decent use case of glassmorphism where it works well.

Don't think I'd want glassy Uber or Airbnb to use to be honest

I will throw shit to apple meanwhile they force devs to buy a pc with their OS because they can't be bothered to keep supporting safari for windows or a version for linux. That just to start, then we can continue with apple giving 2 fucks about web standards…

Safari is the new IE

To continue this thread, our comrade @SrZorro shared a great article that explains some of the main devs complains towards Safari.

Some of them makes proper sense, eg Apple is operating within oligopoly (almost monopoly) in regards to apps, so slowing down amazing future and opportunities (my subjective opinion) of PWAs is on their long term radar.

^ and thats just one thing, which is already quite bad for pretty much everyone but Apple - developers, entrepreneurs and most importantly users.

Anyhow.

Cursor morphing

An example of simulating iOS morphing cursor in Web. Not entirely sure why someone would use it on desktop, but looks good as an experiment.

Definitely grabs user's attention.

2021 SO Developer Survey results

https://insights.stackoverflow.com/survey/2021

Overview:

This year, for example, we observed a significant evolution in the way developers educate themselves. For the rising cohort of coders under the age of 18, online resources like videos and blogs are more popular than books and school combined, a statistic that doesn’t hold for any of our other age cohorts. Overall, the profession is full of new joiners, with more than 50% indicating they have been coding for less than a decade, and more than 35% having less than five years in the trade.
