CRYPTO CITY is being built by the King of Bhutan๐Ÿ™„

๐Ÿ’ฐBhutan's been secretly mining Bitcoin with hydropower since 2020. Now they're pledging 10,000 BTC ($1 billion) to build Gelephu Mindfulness City a special economic zone where every citizen becomes a shareholder.
๐Ÿ˜ณ
This is a kingdom that mined 5,984 BTC using glacial meltwater, held it through every cycle without touching it, and is now using it as collateral for infrastructure instead of selling.

They're treating Bitcoin like oil reserves - generate yield, hold long-term, never liquidate the principal.
The king literally said "every Bhutanese will be a custodian, stakeholder, and beneficiary."

MY QUESTION IS - does everyone in Bhutan have internet?๐Ÿ˜

Trump is a living meme ๐Ÿคช
He's done a lot for crypto and done a lot against crypto, and he talks a lot about crypto and doesn't talk much about crypto, but the main thing he does is he makes everyone TALK about him, including those involved in crypto.
๐Ÿ—ฟThis is his core media strategy.

Maybe I'm just jealous?๐Ÿคช

๐Ÿ”ดThe Bank of Japan kept rates at 0.25% today. Not the apocalyptic 0.75% hike that had Polymarket at 98% certainty and half of crypto Twitter screaming about $70K Bitcoin.
๐Ÿ”ดMarkets priced in a disaster that didn't happen. All that positioning for a 20-30% drop? Wasted energy.

Vitalik just said the quiet part out loud
๐Ÿ’ฐ Ethereum's getting so complex that "trustless" is becoming theoretical - you're not trusting code anymore, you're trusting the 47 people who actually understand what the code does.

He's calling for simplification, even if it means killing features.

๐Ÿ—’Every upgrade that made Ethereum "better" also made it harder to verify independently. At some point, decentralization without comprehension is just decentralization theater. If only core devs can audit the system, you've recreated the expert class you were supposed to eliminate.

Binance just got caught with its hand back in the cookie jar.
๐Ÿ˜ฎ
FT investigation shows the exchange let hundreds of millions in flagged transactions slide through after that $4.3B settlement with US authorities in 2023. Some accounts allegedly tied to Iran and Hizbollah networks. Internal files show suspicious activity kept flowing from 2021 straight through 2025.
๐Ÿ˜ฎ
This isn't a compliance hiccup. This is either incompetence or willful negligence after explicitly promising to clean up. Either way, it puts Binance back in regulators' crosshairs at the worst possible time. Watch for DOJ response and whether this triggers new enforcement action. If you're holding significant funds on Binance, you might want to think about diversification.

Ah shit here we go again...

Community caught a wallet shorting $HYPE, team says it belongs to an ex-employee terminated in Q1 2024. Convenient timing for the explanation - right before the December 24 validator vote on burning $1B worth of $HYPE
๐Ÿ‘
whoever it is, the selling pressure was real. About $134K dumped in a single day back in November. Token's down from $60 ATH to $25 now. Whether it's a bitter ex-employee or something else - the on-chain activity happened. Watch that burn vote.

Gold hits $4,475๐Ÿคฉ
Silver breaks $70๐Ÿคฉ
Bitcoin sits at $87K watching from the bench๐Ÿ˜”

Q4 2025 is shaping up as one of Bitcoin's weakest year-end performances outside bear markets - down 22% this quarter, 30% off the peak. Meanwhile gold is up 69% YTD. The "digital gold" narrative is getting stress-tested hard.

$BTC won't shine until precious metals cool off. Silver's 8-year return has nearly caught up to Bitcoin's. That's not supposed to happen.

โœ๏ธUseful signal from VanEck's December ChainCheck.

https://www.vaneck.com/us/en/blogs/digital-assets/matthew-sigel-vaneck-mid-december-2025-bitcoin-chaincheck/

๐ŸŸขWhile ETP holders are dumping, corporate treasuries bought 42,000 $BTC ($3.7B) in the first half of December - largest monthly haul since July.
๐ŸŸขHashrate dropped 4% (worst since April 2024), which historically preceded 90-day gains 65% of the time. The split is clear: 1-5 year holders are selling, 5+ year holders aren't moving.
๐ŸŸขVanEck's read: weak on-chain, but liquidity improving, smart money accumulating. Bullish structure forming under the correction.

๐ŸšฌMichael Selig officially sworn in as CFTC chairman today๐Ÿšฌ

Former SEC Crypto Task Force chief counsel, ex-advisor to Paul Atkins, started his career clerking for "Crypto Dad" Giancarlo. Confirmed 53-43, now runs the agency solo - all other commissioner seats are empty. Caroline Pham exits for MoonPay ๐ŸŒš

๐ŸšฌCongress is pushing bills to shift spot crypto oversight from SEC to CFTC. Selig's job is to build that infrastructure. Expect clearer rules on stablecoins, tokenized collateral, and DeFi. Whether "pro-crypto" translates to "pro-you" remains to be seen.

Just tell me, what the hell went wrong with this whole alt season???
๐Ÿคฌ
I think itโ€™s because most developers are driven by greed rather than imagination. We could have come up with countless applications for alternative tokens, but instead, all we got were flashy presentations and MVPs - nothing more. Itโ€™s no wonder people are disillusioned with crypto. Most alternative tokens are either gambling memes or technologies that failed to deliver. Many have lost faith in cryptocurrency and now only hold $BTC and $ETH

But hereโ€™s the thing: these token technologies are actually being used effectively. For example, if youโ€™re betting on prediction markets, youโ€™re buying a specific type of token - thatโ€™s how the technology works. I assure you, prediction markets are the biggest trend in crypto for 2026. Donโ€™t miss out.๐Ÿ˜‹

Remember, there are long-term trends and short-term trends. You can profit from both if you play your cards right.

Prediction Markets Beat Social Media at Finding Truth, Says Vitalik Buterin
๐Ÿ˜ฎ
His argument is simple. On social media you can scream "WAR IS INEVITABLE" and farm engagement with zero consequences. On Polymarket, wrong calls cost you money. The system self-corrects toward truth because being wrong hurts.
Critics fired back - betting on deaths is why normies hate crypto.
๐Ÿ˜ฎ
Vitalik's counter: stock markets already let you profit from disasters by shorting. At least prediction markets cap between 0 and 1, no infinite pump-and-dumps.

My opinion - Polymarket is absolutely fucking useless for crypto market analytics

๐Ÿ˜ŽBut predict.fun is SO MUCH BETTER๐Ÿ˜Ž It is created by the same team as the famous PUMP.FUN and is definitely the future for the whole prediction market.

๐Ÿ˜‚CryptoQuant called for a "crypto winter" bottom at $56,000 - a 55% drop from the October high. Bitcoin's around $87K right now, down 30% already.
๐Ÿ˜‚
Their case: demand exhausted, ETFs turned net sellers after accumulating all year, addresses holding 100-1000 BTC stopped buying (last time this happened was late 2021 before the real pain started), funding rates collapsed to December 2023 lows. The on-chain pattern looks identical to 2018. Only difference - bigger user base now, which might mean the floor is higher, or it just means more people holding through a deeper cut. Either way, the "three waves of demand" (ETF launch, election, corporate treasuries) are done.

What's next is the question nobody's answering with data...
Well, I'm gonna go short without a leverage (NFA, DYOR)

FTX!๐Ÿคจ itโ€™s not just a story I remember. I remember the anger of my friends who lost tens of thousands of dollars because of this scam. It was a harsh lesson for everyone involved in cryptocurrency.

Caroline Ellison walks free January 21, 2026 - that's less than a month away now. The woman who ran Alameda Research while it burned through $11 billion in FTX customer funds served barely a year of her two-year sentence. Currently she's on home confinement or in a halfway house, not an actual prison cell.

She also agreed to a 10-year ban from running any public company or crypto exchange. Meanwhile SBF is doing 25 years and still appealing. The deal math speaks for itself.

I will send 1 $ETH to whoever finds her working at McDonald's๐Ÿ˜Š

Harry Potter fans are typically highly intelligent individuals. I am confident that Carolina has stashed away some funds to live comfortably after striking a deal with the authorities and betraying her partner. So, if you donโ€™t find Carolina working at McDonaldโ€™s, you might just spot her relaxing on a luxurious beach somewhere in the Maldives.
๐Ÿ˜‚
Thatโ€™s all for todayโ€™s update on Carolina. Wishing everyone a great day.

โœ๏ธThe story of Caroline and FTX makes me very laughable - it's practically a ready-made plot for a TV series. If you're not familiar with this couple and their multi-billion dollar scandal, here's a quick recap. I've prepared this post for you.

Caroline Ellison was 28 when she became CEO of Alameda Research - Sam Bankman-Fried's trading firm that quietly borrowed $14 billion in FTX customer money.

MIT economist's daughter, math olympiad winner, effective altruism believer. Started as a trader in 2018, became sole CEO in August 2022 when her co-CEO quit right before everything blew up. She was also SBF's on-and-off girlfriend, which made the whole thing messier.

November 2022: CoinDesk publishes Alameda's fake balance sheet. Days later, in a video call with employees, Ellison admits they used FTX customer funds to cover Alameda's losses. FTX collapses within a week. She prepared seven different balance sheets to hide the mess from lenders. Knew it was fraud, did it anyway.
December 2022: flips immediately, pleads guilty to seven counts carrying 110 years max. September 2024: testifies against SBF for three days, gets sentenced to two years for "very substantial cooperation." January 2026: walks free after 11 months. SBF gets 25 years, sitting in California until 2044.
