Residents of Kolkata's Chorbagan area said that sudden rainfall, limited space, a heavy influx of visitors and inadequate police and volunteer deployment for crowd management contributed to a stampede at a Durga Puja pandal that killed 19 people on Saturday.
They claimed that heavy rain caused people inside the pandal to wait for the weather to improve, while visitors waiting outside grew restless and tried to rush inside the already full marquee.

As many as 14 people were killed and 28 injured in the tragedy that occurred around 1.30 am outside the Sheetla Mata temple near a slope on Chinor Road. The truck crashed into several devotees and roadside shops before hitting the temple's entrance gate and bringing down a wall.

Actor Tiger Shroff escaped unhurt after three rounds were fired at his car in Mumbai’s Juhu. Three unidentified assailants allegedly opened fire as Shroff returned home after playing football.
According to unconfirmed reports, two people, including his driver, were injured in the incident. Police said Shroff is safe and has not suffered any gunshot injuries in the incident.
Mumbai Police formed 12 teams to track down the attackers and cordoned off the area.
