Adsett emphasized the profound distress this situation causes for midwives, who must watch viable babies die while caring for laboring women in the next room. She stressed that these infants, aborted for psychosocial or financial reasons, are denied the compassion and rights given to wanted babies lost through miscarriage or stillbirth at similar gestational ages. Adsett concluded by urging the passage of the Live Birth Bill to protect babies born alive after abortion procedures.

What starts with a "helpful" pacemaker or neural interface ends with the realization of Orwell's vision of a fully measurable, modifiable and remotely governable population — humanity reduced to nodes on a control grid, forever assessed, optimized and disciplined by unelected algorithms that can never be unplugged.
