There are tentatively 2,38,255 candidates who would be preparing to write their Group1 Services preliminary examination for direct recruitment on 13.07.2024.

With less than a week to go for group 1 prelims:

Here are my few pointers :

1. Revise well . Strengthen your strengths. Be thorough with your strengths ( polity , history whatever)

2. Aptitude:

Do solve some maths questions beforehand. Memorize formulae.

3. Current affairs:

look up for more specific things, if you have read revise it , if not then read selectively like sports,awards, TN achievements, TN and Indian govt schemes.

4. Unit 8 and 9 :

Be thorough with school books. Don't try to run behind unit 8 literature or excavation part , if you have read something on this area , revise this . Don't spend much here.

Read tamilnadu history and geography and TN economics. Revise this well first

Visit TN GUIDANCE , TN SOCIAL WELFARE DEPT, TN HEALTH DEPT, TN IT DEPT , TN EDUCATION DEPT website and read recent schemes. Do this only if you find time,or else solve PYQ'S that will cover this almost .

5. Science:

read selective chapters like
Genetics, human health and diseases, light , acid bases salts , fertilizer, pesticides, some physics laws .

But dont panic much here . The above chapters are good enough to cover in last minute, don't stress yourself.

6. Economics:

Read some areas like planning , monetary policy , tamilnadu economics, LPG reforms,
Poverty reduction schemes

Latest budget of tamilnadu and india a must read !!!

7. History:

Strengthen this as much as possible. Read administration terms, ivc sites and it's discoverers, gupta, dehi sultanate etc

8. INM :

Revise maximum like the chronological order of events and school books.
Leaders and their role especially.

9 . PYQ
For every subject you revise , do this with PYQ, this will largely help

10.

Don't stress yourself, stay calm, even if you have completed just 50 percentage of even less than that , that's perfectly okay , revise that fully.

Attempting paper :

As there is NO negative marking for wrong answers, DONT shade E option ( answer not known)

Attempt in rounds. First round mark all the questions that you are sure about in question paper itself

Second round , mark the unknown questions along with the confusing ones or 50-50 questions

Practically its tough to go in three rounds in TNPSC exams, you can do , for that you must have practice, that's why I restrict this to two rounds

Shading : don't do after each question, instead do after every half an hour or one hour.

Please be very careful in shading. Don't double shade , it will lead to penalty.

So practice in OMR beforehand.

Finally ,Keep believing in yourself. Your accumulated knowledge will help. ⚡️
All that matters is a few questions to crack . It comes handy if you do revision well and have a calm clear mindset. ✌️
