For the first time in Indian Railways, an LNG-based fuel system has been successfully adopted in the train's Driving Power Cars. Two 1,400-horsepower Driving Power Cars at Sabarmati Integrated Coaching Depot have been converted into a diesel-LNG dual-fuel system, with LNG replacing nearly 40 per cent of diesel consumption. The technology allows the same engine to use both LNG and diesel, providing operational flexibility.
