The first exit polls from Israel’s pivotal general election on Tuesday showed historic gains for the country’s Arab parties, whose supporters turned out in large numbers.
Exit polls from Israel’s main television channels projected that the two Arab political lists would win a combined 17–18 seats in the 120-member parliament, up from 10 in the 2022 election.
The headquarters of the Joint List, an alliance of several Arab parties, erupted in whistles and applause as the results were announced, while supporters of the Ra’am party were filmed celebrating.
According to exit polls published by Channel 12, Ra’am and the Joint List were projected to win seven and 11 seats, respectively, The Jerusalem Post reported.
Preliminary results suggested that Israeli voters had delivered a sharp rebuke to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with exit polls indicating that his opponents could secure a narrow majority in the next parliament.

A high-speed train collision near Urda, south of Madrid, killed at least 46 people on October 28, according to regional Civil Protection sources, as emergency crews continued rescue and recovery operations.
The crash involved a Renfe AVE train, which was carrying 397 passengers, and an Iryo train, carrying 147, on the Madrid-Seville line. Two carriages derailed and fell down an embankment.
The cause remains under investigation and rail services linking Madrid, Ciudad Real and Andalusia have been suspended.
Government sources warned the death toll could exceed that of January’s crash near Adamuz, which killed 46 people.

If Israel were the State of Tel Aviv, none of Netanyahu's allies—Ben-Gvir, Smotrich, the Haredim—would have gotten past the electoral threshold, and Eisenkot's "Change Bloc" would have won a landslide election victory, securing around 71 percent of the seats

With more than 90% of votes counted in Israel's legislative elections, current projections give Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s bloc 53 seats, compared to 48 for opposition Gadi Eisenkot’s alliance. Arab parties are projected to secure a record 19 seats.
The remaining absentee ballots are unlikely to significantly alter the outcome. With no bloc reaching the 61 seats required for a Knesset majority, Israel faces a potentially prolonged period of political uncertainty as rival camps seek the support needed to form a government.
