Update Apr 21:
As per the latest unconfirmed information, it is possible that Trump bans the issuance of green cards and work visas for 120 days or more.

They are trying to ban travel entry from all countries which is currently stopped from Europe and China.

New approvals for H1B, L, H4 EAD and other such work authorizations might be affected.

Update April 21, 3.23 PM ET:
Attorney Rajiv Khanna says that DHS is planning to suspend work visas for 90 days.

Exceptions
1. Jobs in Food Production (farm workers) using the H2B visa and supply chain.
2. Healthcare professions – Anybody working in a medical profession or a health care company might be safe.

Recertify H1B LCA?
H1B workers might be asked to provide updated LCA certifications proving that they are not displacing American workers!

This is a BIG task and will certainly affect current extensions, transfers, and other applications.

Trump has announced an immigration stop of 60 days for US green cards.
This means family-based I-130 applications are affected.

Spouses and children of US citizens and green card holders will not be affected by this ban.

Are H1B & L work visas affected?

Trump did not announce anything specifically for an H1B visa but Reuters reports that another order may be coming soon which will target work-based visas.

Trump says he signed the executive order to block green cards for next 60 days today. Details are awaited. I will share my analysis once available.

Trump's executive does not affect #H1B but a review of nonimmigrant visa affecting American job market within 30 days is in line what we have been reporting.

Only people who's green card is not approved at this time and are outside USA cannot enter starting Apr 23 Midnight.

Was showing ‘Payment status not available’ until 24 Apr. On Apr 25, the status changed to ‘Eligible’, and the IRS asked for bank information. So, do not lose hope.
