Kevin Pistone, the chief CBP officer in Vancouver pre-clearance at Canada border has confirmed with AILA that the AVR process is not affected by Trump’s H1B travel executive order ban.

This means you can enter/return from Mexico/Canada within 30 days without a visa stamp.

Trump's executive order has asked DOL to work on framing new rules for PERM certification - EB2 and EB3.

Recertification may be forced. Old PERMs may get useless.

Legal challenges do exist but the common opinion building around is that they want to push out Indians.

My opinion:
Nothing to worry in the short term (1-2 yrs), but it is better to create a back up for the long term (3-5 yrs).

USCIS Furlough will Increase Processing Time (H1B, H4 EAD, I-130)

-- Service centers will be open but furlough will increase the processing time for H1B, H4, L1, L2, EAD family I-130 applications.
-- H1B premium processing fees are being refunded (as reported by multiple people in our groups).
-- Biometric centers reopening but furlough will offset any time gain!
