In PNG, 26th of August is a Public Holiday known as National Repentance Day; it is a day of prayer and reflection throughout the nation.
In the Universal Church, we believe that this day is a great opportunity for those who are seeking to reconcile with God to come and turn back to Him — not only tomorrow, but this whole week as we prepare for the Sunday of Re-encounter with God.
“Now, therefore,” says the Lord, “Turn to Me with all your heart, With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.” Joel 2:12 NKJV

I John 1:9
True repentance is not only feeling guilty or remorse for the consequences of a mistake, but deciding to change the life.
The Bible teaches us that the goodness of God leads the human being to repentance.
Jesus taught that everyone needs to repent to achieve forgiveness and eternal life
When someone confesses their mistakes and sincerely repents, God is faithful to forgive and purify our selves
God is so pleased when a person decides to change his path.
Also when a person repents they have a different attitude, they are humble and try to do what is right to please God. Repentance is the essential condition for salvation.
