This article is mainly focused on subsidies on food and fertilizers.
The crux of the article is
India has achieved a remarkable reduction in extreme poverty, plummeting from 27% in 2011 (PPP) to approximately 5% by 2022, primarily due to initiatives like PM-KISAN and providing free food to 80 crore people. This period also saw robust GDP growth and a significant rise in per capita income. Looking ahead, India is committed to rationalizing crucial food and fertilizer subsidies (estimated at ₹2.05 Lakh Crore and ₹1.64 Lakh Crore respectively for FY 2024-25) to ensure effective, leakage-proof implementation. This comprehensive approach underscores India's successful stride towards inclusive economic development.

According to Bain & Company, India's AI sector is projected to require approximately 2.3 million workers by 2027, while the available AI talent pool is expected to grow by only 1.2 million. A similar talent gap is anticipated in China. This suggests that AI will likely generate more jobs than it displaces, necessitating efforts to bridge the significant demand-supply disparity in the talent pool.
