Subsidies and Public Debt are not just budgetary terms—they define the quality of governance and fiscal sustainability.
This notes-style visual simplifies core GS Paper III concepts, linking welfare expenditure with fiscal deficit and debt dynamics, exactly the way UPSC expects in Prelims and Mains answers.
Revise smart. Write better. Think structurally.

MAJOR DURGA MALLA
The Gorkha community for long has been associated with the military history of our country. The story of Major Durga Malla stands out as he sacrificed his life for our nation at the young age of 31. Born on 01 July 1913 in a small village called Dobraha in Dehradun (Uttarakhand), to Ganga Ram Malla who was a jamadar (present-day naib subedar) in the Gorkha Rifles in the military, Durga Malla was a laborious, dedicated, and bright student in his childhood. In 1931, when he was only 18, he joined the 2/1 battalion of the Gorkha Rifles. Seeing his excellent performance in the training, he was quickly promoted to the post of Signal Hawaldar. In 1941, during World War II, when the Japanese aggression had intensified, the 2/1 battalion of Gorkha Rifles were ordered to advance towards the war field. However, the Allied forces were routed by the Japanese army in South East Asia and it was then that a group of Indian soldiers became convinced that they served no purpose fighting for the British. In 1942, they decided to break away and form the Indian National Army (INA) under the leadership of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. Durga Malla was one of the key figures responsible for the formation of the INA, and his presence was largely responsible for encouraging his fellow men of the Gorkha Battalion to join the INA.

Dear Students,
As committed from the very outset of the Prelims Assurance 2026 – Pragati Mentorship Plan, we are following a clearly defined, time-bound academic roadmap with zero ambiguity.
By 31st January, we will complete the entire Indian Economy for Prelims—covering static fundamentals, current linkages, PYQ-driven insights, and MCQ-based application—exactly in the rigorous, structured manner you have already experienced.
In the month of February, we will comprehensively cover Indian Polity and Indian History, following the same disciplined framework:
📚NCERT-driven conceptual clarity
📚10-year PYQ benchmarking
📚Static–dynamic integration
📚High-quality MCQ practice with mistake analytics
The objective is not superficial coverage, but Prelims-oriented mastery—ensuring that each subject moves from “read” to “retained,” and from “known” to “correctly attempted under pressure.”
This structured completion ensures that by the end of February, you will have crossed the most critical academic milestone of Prelims preparation, allowing March onwards to be dedicated to peripheral subjects, revision, and full-length test execution with confidence.
We remain fully committed to this roadmap and to providing you a clear, guided, and distraction-free path to clearing UPSC CSE Prelims 2026.
Discipline over desperation.
Strategy over randomness.
Execution over anxiety.
