Senior Backend Engineer — Zehnmind.ai

We're looking for someone to take real ownership of our backend architecture. Not another CRUD service — distributed systems, event-driven design, and AI running inside the backend itself rather than behind someone else's API.

The work

You'd be designing and owning scalable distributed systems end to end, and writing down the reasoning behind your decisions so the rest of the team can follow it — ADRs, diagrams, design reviews. A lot of it is modelling messy business domains properly with DDD and turning them into services that stay clean a year later.

Event-driven work is a big part of the job: Kafka or RabbitMQ, designing topics and queues, thinking through delivery guarantees and what happens when things fail. And on the AI side, actual implementation inside performance-critical code — model serving, inference pipelines, vector search, and the latency and cost tuning that comes with it.

The rest is what you'd expect from a senior role: designing schemas that hold up as data grows, reviewing code, mentoring the people around you, and working closely with product, data and DevOps.

What you need to have

Real architecture experience — microservices, modular monoliths, hexagonal/clean — and opinions about when each one is the wrong choice. A solid grasp of event-driven patterns: event sourcing, CQRS, sagas, idempotency, eventual consistency, message ordering.

Production experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ is non-negotiable. Partitioning, consumer groups, retries, dead-letter queues, delivery semantics — you should have debugged these under load, not just read about them.

You'll also need experience scaling systems horizontally (caching, load balancing, sharding, HA), hands-on AI implementation work (embedding pipelines, RAG, inference optimization, batching, GPU/CPU resource management), practical DDD, and strong database design — indexing, transactions and isolation levels, knowing when SQL beats NoSQL and when it doesn't.

Language-wise, strong proficiency in at least one strictly typed OOP language: Java, C#/.NET or C++. SOLID and design patterns should be part of how you work day to day, including knowing when a pattern is overkill.

We're looking for someone who can walk into an unfamiliar organization, figure out how it really works, and turn that into something our engineers can build. Not a requirements-taker — someone who finds the actual problem behind the one people describe, and knows where AI helps and where it doesn't.

The work
You'd lead discovery on-site with client executives, process owners and subject-matter experts through interviews, observation and workshops. You'd map their organizational structure, processes and subprocesses, review the systems and data they use today, and dig down to the root causes of their business problems.
From there, you decide where AI and automation make sense, design a tailored solution, and confirm it's feasible with our Technical Team Leads. You'll write the PRDs, BRDs and User Stories with clear acceptance criteria, create workflows, wireframes and process maps, and present findings and proposals to client executives and our leadership.
Then you hand the full package over to our Project Managers, Product Managers and tech team, and stay involved as the business expert during delivery. Along the way, you'll build the templates and checklists that make every new project start faster.

What you need to have
4+ years in business or systems analysis in IT, including direct work with client stakeholders. A degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent hands-on industry experience.
You've led at least one project from discovery to delivery working with a client's senior stakeholders, and taken part in at least one digital transformation project, where an organization changed how it works through new systems or automation.
You should be strong at interviewing stakeholders and running workshops, breaking a business down into processes and modelling them, and writing PRDs, BRDs and User Stories. You know Agile, Scrum and Waterfall, and when each one fits. You've used Jira, Trello or a similar tool.
Technically, you understand software delivery, APIs, databases, integrations and system architecture well enough to work as an equal with tech leads. You also have a practical sense of what AI can and can't do, including how to judge a use case and whether the data behind it is good enough.
Language-wise: fluent Uzbek, confident Russian and English. You present well to executives, can explain technical topics to business people and business needs to developers, and you're comfortable taking the lead in an organization you've never seen before.

Middle Data Engineer — Databricks / PySpark / Data Vault

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer with strong Databricks, PySpark, and data modelling experience to join an enterprise data platform team building a Lakehouse that powers a web app, LLM agents, and ML models.

Role: Middle Data Engineer
Salary: $600 – $800 (Net) + performance-based bonus
Format: Remote

Core Requirements

- Strong experience with Databricks and Lakehouse medallion architecture (bronze / silver / gold)
- Advanced PySpark skills for building transformations in notebooks
- Hands-on experience with Delta Lake
- Experience with Data Vault modelling (hubs, links, satellites)
- Experience with dimensional modelling (facts and dimensions)
- Experience ingesting data with Fivetran and custom API integrations
- Experience working with Oracle SQL databases as source systems
- Spark performance tuning, including skew handling and Liquid Clustering
- Experience deploying with Databricks Asset Bundles (DABs)
- Experience with Unity Catalog, group-based RBAC, and PII masking

Nice to Have

- Experience with Great Expectations or similar data quality frameworks
- Experience handling unstructured files in Blob storage
- Experience supporting LLM / agent and ML use cases with curated data

What You'll Work On

- Building and maintaining a Databricks Lakehouse on a medallion architecture
- Ingesting data from Oracle systems and APIs into the bronze layer
- Modelling the silver layer with Data Vault and the gold layer with dimensional models
- Optimising Spark performance and Delta table layouts
- Implementing governance, access control, and PII masking in Unity Catalog
- Replacing manual scheduling processes and spreadsheets with a unified data platform
- Collaborating with the application team that builds on top of the gold layer for the web app, LLMs, and ML models

Core Requirements

- Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, especially Databricks Jobs
- Advanced Python skills, writing notebooks daily from ingestion to the gold layer
- Solid understanding of medallion architecture and how to define bronze / silver / gold boundaries
- Experience working with Delta tables
- Experience processing large volumes of PDF documents (100K+ files)
- Experience calling LLM endpoints from notebooks and tracking token usage and cost
- Experience with Azure cloud
- Ability to design and consolidate job orchestration pipelines

Nice to Have

- Experience with Neo4j or other graph databases
- Experience with healthcare or clinical-research data
- Experience building data layers consumed by AI agents

- Preparing gold-layer data for an agentic layer used as an API tool
- Consolidating scattered and redundant Databricks job pipelines
