I currently live in Namangan, but I was born in Jizzakh. After getting married, I relocated to Namangan because my husband is a local, and I have been living here ever since.
Jizzakh is less crowded than Namangan. The climate is generally dry, characterized by scorching summers and freezing winters. Located in the central part of Uzbekistan, Jizzakh is a prominent industrial city with a population of over 1.5 million. A significant portion of the rural population, particularly those residing near the mountainous areas, are of nomadic descent. People living in these rural regions are typically described as having almond-shaped eyes, round faces, and robust health, making them less susceptible to illnesses.
Generally speaking, the people of Jizzakh are known for being kind, trustworthy, and diligent. Economically, the city is particularly renowned for its thriving cotton industry. Unfortunately, despite their hard work and kindness, many residents still find it challenging to comfortably cover their daily living expenses.
On a historical note, Jizzakh is well-known as the birthplace of Sharof Rashidov, a prominent political figure in Uzbekistan who served as the First Secretary of the Communist Party of Uzbekistan for many years."
