Bosnia and Herzegovina continue their EURO 2020 qualifying campaign against Greece on Tuesday. The Bosnians sit third in Group J after Saturdayโs 2-1 win over Armenia โ Greece and Italy stand above them on goal difference alone โ but remain second favourites to finish in the top two and earn participation in next summerโs tournament. After their impressive Nations League campaign, where they won three of their four games against Austria and Northern Ireland (W3 D1), the Bosnians could also qualify via the play-offs if something was to go wrong.
Greece will feel their chances of clinching second place from the grasp of the Bosnians will have improved drastically after their 2-0 victory over Liechtenstein last weekend. Getting off to a winning start, even against a team of such a lower calibre, is massive for momentum and confidence, something the Greeks will need given they donโt have too talented a squad. Some individual class, such as that of experienced Arsenal defender Sokratis, means theyโre no pushovers either โ he captains a back-line that has kept a clean sheet in four of their seven competitive outings since the start of 2018.
Greece arenโt the most free-flowing side around, though โ in fact, before Saturday they hadnโt scored more than a single goal in a match since their 4-0 thrashing of Gibraltar back in 2017. The Greeks should, therefore, have a tough time breaking through a Bosnian back-line that has kept a clean sheet in all but two of their last eight competitive home outings. Bosniaโs scoring form is almost the opposite to that of Tuesdayโs visitors โ theyโve scored two goals or more in six of their last eight competitive home outings โ and front man Edin Dzeko has been their โgo toโ in that regard โ heโs scored three goals over his last three in his homeland.
Bosnia come into this game as the odds on favourites, which is understandable considering their home form in the Nations League and 2018 World Cup Qualifying campaign. Greece donโt really look to have what it takes to cause an upset, especially away from home โ theyโve lost three of their last five competitive away matches (W2 L3) โ but they are a well-rounded enough side that itโs hard to expect anything too outrageous from this game. On that basis, we like Bosnia to get the win, but without pushing above their recent two goals per home game average.Preview tip:

West Bromwich Albion vs Birmingham

West Brom sacked Darren Moore a couple of weeks ago in what was seen as a very controversial move with the side comfortably in the playoff places however since the move they have won both of their following league games without reply. They beat Swansea 3-0 at the Hawthorns and then 3 days later beat a Brentford side who had won their previous 5 home league games 1-0 at Griffin Park. Itโs still a tough one to understand but the instant success of the sacking results wise seems to have softened the mood.
Birmingham City on the other hand arenโt enjoying such success on or off the field at the moment, they head into this game having lost their last 4 consecutive league games without scoring a single goal. They have lost 2-0 at Hull, 1-0 vs Aston Villa, 2-0 vs Millwall and last time out 1-0 at Preston. They were sitting in a healthy mid table position however they have now also been hit with a nine point deduction for breaking the EFLโs Profitability and Sustainability rules. This has thrown the midlands side into 18th place in the table, who now sit just 5 points above the relegation zone with 8 games to play.
West Brom are in mixed form at the Hawthornes, their 3-0 win last time out against Swansea was their first win at home since their 2-0 win against Wigan on Boxing Day. That run of 6 games had seen 4 draws and 2 losses, simply not good enough for a team looking for an instant return to the Premier League. They have looked really good since the managerial departure however and their 3 goals against Swansea represented their biggest margin of victory at home since November, all positives heading into the playoffs.
Birmingham have lost their last 2 away games against Hull City and Preston both without finding the scoresheet, this represents a tough period for Garry Monkโs side whoโs focus now is ensuring they avoid the drop and are playing Championship football again next season. Star player Che Adams sits joint 3rd in the top scorer charts this season with 21 goals however the former Sheffield United player has not scored in his last 5 Championship games and getting him back amongst the goals will be key to their survival.
