The Mustards hadnโt scored away from home since the start of December but managed to brush past les Gones with ease. Lyon are now five points away from 2nd placed Lille and if they canโt at least achieve that then this season will be viewed as a complete failure, especially considering how poor many of the top teams in France have been this season.
Nantes suffered their fourth consecutive defeat last week as they fell to a 1-0 loss away to Toulouse. Andrei Girotto was sent off after just 18 minutes, which didnโt exactly help their plight as Nantes struggled to keep up with Toulouse. Nantes only managed one shot on target compared to Toulouseโs five and with the Canaries now level on points with 17th placed Amiens, they have to make sure they donโt get sucked back into the relegation battle they thought they had escaped.
Nantes have failed to score in five of their last eight matches, conceding nine goals and losing five times in this run of games. They have won just two of their last twelve league games and possess little to no threat going forward as no one has been able to lead the team from the front; Kalifa Koulibaly, Abdul Waris and Gabriel Boschillia have all failed at this task and their team has suffered as a result.
