A proper education is indeed important, but do not neglect the lessons you receive from the university of life.

It's Monday, that is a new video time.

The reason why some countries are rich and others poor depends on many things, including the quality of their institutions, the culture they have, the natural resources they find and what latitude they're on.

The video is both captivating and educational. https://youtu.be/9-4V3HR696k

Another meaning is: "to travel a long distance". The phrase often refers to a portion of a longer journey.

Congratulations on Teacher's Day!

The idea of celebrating Teachers' Day took ground in many countries during the 20th century; in most cases, they celebrate a local educator or an important milestone in education (for example, Argentina commemorates Domingo Faustino Sarmiento's death on September 11 since 1915, while India celebrates Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan's birthday on September 5 since 1962). This is the primary reason why countries celebrate this day on different dates, unlike many other International Days.

"We were asked to vote for the candidates for captain by a show of hands."

2. an unfortunate event or incident

That's how we feel about deadlines.

Well, that's how we feel about deadlines [2].

We have two quite different videos for you today.

The first one is all about science.

Humans. We have been around for a while now. When we think about our past we think about ancient civilizations, the pyramids, stuff like that. But this is only a tiny, tiny part of our history. What happened before history?

The second one is actually a part of rap battle history: the most anticipated battle (bright and unique) between Oxxxymiron, Russian rapper, and Dizaster, the American one.

Feel free to choose any, both of them do have subtitles. Yet be careful: the second one is 18+ and contains obscene language. https://youtu.be/ldK9qvRBkMI

Yep, we continue our "deadline" topic.

It means something like "an extra enhancement".
Oh, wow, a new post in Viola! That's icing on the cake!
(sorry for that, we are working on the frequency)

anxiety = a state of uneasiness or tension caused by fear of possible future misfortune, danger = worry
(or: intense desire, eagerness)

Laura came into the room, as pale as a ghost. "What happened?" her friends gasped.

Good night.

Yep, it means «to undergo surgery».

It also works for things, like here:
"The blender stopped working again today—it must be on its last legs".

Continuing our topic of the week:

ex.: «The English have raised the simple act of making a cup of tea to a fine art».
