SHIB has surpassed Dai to become the world's 12th largest cryptocurrency: Report

Shiba Inu ($SHIB) has surpassed Dai to become the world's 12th largest cryptocurrency by market value, according to Watcher News. The top three positions are occupied by Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Tether.

According to CoinGecko data, SHIB has a market capitalization of $6,485,076,686 while Dai has a market capitalization of $6,302,200,419.

Terra LUNA is up more than 9% in 24 hours, while Terra Classic is up more than 28%.

According to CoinMarketCap, the price of Terra LUNA has increased by more than 9% in the last 24 hours. The price of LUNA is currently $2.17, with a 24-hour trading volume of $231,790,131.

Meanwhile, the old LUNA token, Terra Classic (LUNC), has risen by more than 29 per cent in the last 24 hours to $0.000076. LUNA currently has a market capitalization of more than $497 million.

Binance has donated $1 million BUSD to help 1,000 Ukrainians study IT.

Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, has announced the launch of a new large-scale IT Generation project from the Binance Charity Foundation in collaboration with Ukraine's Digital Transformation Ministry.

Binance Charity will donate $1 million to BUSD as part of the partnership to provide IT scholarships to at least 1,000 Ukrainians. The Binance Scholar programme funded the project.

According to a survey, more millennials are investing in cryptocurrency than in mutual funds.

Alto, an investment firm, recently surveyed adults in the United States to learn about their investing preferences. According to the findings, more millennials aged 25 to 40 are investing in cryptocurrency than in mutual funds.

According to the report, titled "How Millennials See Their Financial Future," nearly 40% of millennial respondents have invested in cryptocurrencies. This is "greater than the percentage of millennials who own mutual funds," according to the report. Furthermore, the percentage is nearly equal to the proportion of millennials who own stocks.

According to the report, the majority of millennials already own cryptocurrency or are considering purchasing it. However, Alto founder and CEO Eric Satz stated that the current economic climate makes it difficult for them to consider investing.

BUSD Ecosystem

The BUSD ecosystem has grown exponentially in 2021. The stablecoin grew from a market capitalization of around US$1B at the start of 2021, to over US$14.6B at the end of 2021.

This makes it the third largest stablecoin by market cap, behind Tether and USDC. This growth is largely due to more user adoption as wallets, platforms and services, DEXes and CEXes support BUSD.

MicroStrategy purchases 480 BTC for $10 million, bringing their total stash to 129,699 coins.

MicroStrategy (MSTR) announced on Wednesday morning that it purchased 480 bitcoins for approximately $10 million - an average price of $20,817 per coin - between May 3 and June 28.
The new additions bring the company's total holdings to 129,699 bitcoins (BTC) purchased for $3.98 billion, or $30,664 per bitcoin. At the time of publication, bitcoin was trading at $20,100, making MSTR's stash worth approximately $2.6 billion.
During bitcoin's recent drop to the $18,000-$21,000 range, there was a lot of speculation about whether MicroStrategy would face margin calls. Still, company CEO Michael Saylor dismissed the speculation and pledged to buy more coins as cash flow allowed.

1% TDS on crypto transactions will be applicable from today

On June 22, 2022, the CBDT gave a circular which explained the tax deduction process on crypto in India.

The new TDS regulations will be applied from July 1, 2022.

This is how it will work:
1. The TDS is applicable only for those who are selling crypto assets and those who will be buying crypto for crypto. In this case, the TDS will be applicable to both parties.
2. TDS would be deducted on each trade where a crypto asset is exchanged for INR or another crypto asset.
3. No TDS would be deducted from the buyer on buying crypto using INR.
4. When trading via a crypto exchange, the individuals do not have to worry about paying the taxes, as the Exchange would take care of the deductions.
