Affiliate and community relations in the Wikimedia ecosystem are complex, and the Twelfth DCW Conversation Hour aims to address these complexities. The conversation hour features Tanveer Hasan, an important figure in the global Wikimedia movement, who currently serves as the Executive Director at the Centre for Internet and Society (CIS), a major movement partner in the entire South Asian region. We look forward to learn from his vast experiences and knowledge in order to navigate the complexities around the question: how do affiliates and communities in the Wikimedia world develop and prosper together?

A Dive Into The Organizer Lab

In DCW Conversation Hour January 2024, we look forward to diving deep in the “Organizer Lab”, a program by the Wikimedia Foundation (WMF), which aims at impactful content campaigns and strategies to improve technical and social workflow for organizers in the global Wikimedia movement.

The conversation hour features Alexander D. Stinson, a long-time Wikimedia contributor and a Lead Program Strategist at the WMF. He has worked as a project manager for The Wikipedia Library, and supports GLAM-Wiki outreach and Wikipedia Education programs.

In the 15th DCW Conversation Hour, we look forward to exploring Wikimedia User Experience, and how particularly Wikimedia Foundation (WMF) engages and works to achieve the best of it. The conversation features Amal Ramadan, a Senior Community Relations Specialist at the WMF, where she supports the i0S and Android App Teams by building a bridge between the users' experiences and requests to enhance the apps.

A wide majority of contributors on Wikimedia projects edit using mobile phones and face a bulk of challenges due to lack of features and compatibility. This conversation aims to address some of those challenges and understand the dynamics behind engaging and retaining users using "Wikimedia Mobile Apps".
