Are Bonds Now Approaching a Turning Point?
Yesterday bonds got bid up and yields tumbled. A few things are moving under the surface. The AI trade is getting fresh scrutiny, French bonds came under heavy selling, and money market funds just posted their largest weekly inflow since May. It seems like growth headwinds are growing, and money is hunting for safety.
Bond prices sit near serious lows, and the risk/reward is obviously super attractive. Sentiment hit peak pessimism, people calling bonds "bidless with no buyers left", and that kind of extreme often marks a contrarian signal. At these yields you lock in attractive rates on risk-free Treasuries if you need somewhere to park money.
Iβm watching the 30-year to roll over. I drew a line at Mondayβs open near 5.60%. If yields break below it, we erase the whole weekβs gains, and I start looking for a topping pattern in yields and a bottoming pattern in bond prices.

TLT 4-Hour Chart
Iβm becoming more open to selling some premium down around 75 on TLT.
Assuming there is a bottom nearby, the risk-reward profile looks exceptional.
(that's a big if)
If the current growth headwinds play out, Iβm a happy buyer at that level, and Iβd bet plenty of others feel the same.
Shout out to Nick and Chris for shining some light on this one.

I'm long USD/JPY.
- Primarily a bet on continued dollar strength. I think the fed will remain hawkish for the time being, due to persistent inflation and strong economic growth (due to AI leadership / buildout)
- Stops below, willing to potentially go long again at levels like 156.50 if it makes it there.
- EdgeFinder reading: very bullish, will attach an image

Gold Drifts Mid-Range as Traders Brace for CPI Print
Oil is up 2.4% today, firming the dollar and weighing on gold. Price ran up to the 4,200 resistance, got rejected again, and is back near the middle of its range. From here Iβd expect a drift back toward 4,120, where gold waits for its next cue.
That cue being Wednesdayβs CPI. Analysts expect inflation to tick higher. If it does, rate-hike expectations stay alive and gold stays pressured. If inflation cools, gold gets support and could push for the top of the range. Recent jobs data already came in cool, which helps gold, so this print matters even more.
Personally, Iβm not fighting the Fed. Until Wednesday proves otherwise, I stay bearish. Iβll be honest though: if inflation turns and cools, I have to look for bullish setups.

USD/CHF Weekly Chart
Looking for longer-term buy setups on the pair similar to USD/JPY. The Swiss Franc is under pressure from short positions as traders bet other major central banks keep tightening.
The SNB is the odd one out of all other central banks.. It held its key rate at 0% in September, and Vice Chairman Martin said no change is needed. Inflation is low and stable, spillover risk is limited, and the Swiss economy is running very well. Theyβve also backed off their threats to intervene in the currency.

The Nasdaq Holds Its Ground as AI Jitters Spread Overseas
The AI trade is getting tested again. We saw the jitters Friday that seem to be carrying over. Nasdaq was leading lower pre market but is now recouping some of its losses.
But the real Ai pain was felt overseas overnight. Kospi dropped more than 5%. Samsung down 10%, SK Hynix down 7%.
The reason was due to China catching up on memory chips, and Broadcomβs CEO out here calling AI investors casino gamblers lol.
The Nasdaq is still holding up, and itβs the AI names and the mags doing the heavy lifting for the whole market. If it flushes below 30,000 and starts making legs lower, that tells me the unwind is getting real, and a deeper pullback could be in play.
For now though, Nasdaqβs hanging in there.

Russell Signal Update
Trailing stops behind structure. We're back below the 200 Day SMA and 2,800 support level.
This has been a nice trade to express my view on interest-rates and the path forward. Keep in mind, rate expectations will start to shift following tomorrow's first round of inflation data.
