“It was impressive and unforgettable moments when we visited stunning New Hampshire in beautiful fall and spent there few days. Living with local families gave us real American spirit of leadership. I found the interactions with local communities very useful on better understanding of State's Problems and Opportunities. Excited to visit New Hampshire again, and visit Mount Washington”, Sardor says.

Excellent participation, Sardor! Good luck with your future endeavors! 👍🏻

Please, meet another successful fellow, Open World alumnus 2018 Dr. Bakhrom Radjabov from Tashkent, Uzbekistan! Currently, Bakhrom is the National Coordinator at GIZ (German Agency for International Cooperation) and an Adjunct Professor at Webster University (Tashkent campus).

“This was not my first visit to the United States. However, participation in the Open World program was truly exceptional”, says Bakhrom. “For the first time in my life, I have visited North Carolina, a wonderful city of Asheville – number 9 tourists' destination in the USA in 2018. I met amazing people – Rene and Stan, who lived in their private house in Hendersonville. Together we spent time, me discovering how people live in Rene's and Stan's county. Rene told a bunch of stories of her personal experiences as a woman working in the U.S. local government. I met their friends, listened to the local music, and watched local dances.
A tour of the national parks and beautiful gardens, I believe, made me feel the grace of North Carolina. During the small talks and longer conversations Americans opened their hearts, which is what I appreciated a lot. Before I left Rene and Stan, Rene gave me one of her books as a gift and the pleasant memory about North Carolina and the time I have spent there
”.

Open World Program team wishes the best of luck to Bakhrom Radjabov in his future endeavors! 👍🏻

Featuring our next Open World Success story!

Please, meet Open World alumnus 2017, Uzbekistan Parliament member Rasul Kusherbayev.

"We have heard a lot about the United States. I was especially interested in the work of the U.S. Congress. While visiting the United States with the Open World program, we have got acquainted with the work schedule of congressmen, working with voters, impressed by the role and participation of Congress in the adoption laws, especially the budget. Also of particular interest were the local offices of congressmen and how they deal with voters' appeals. Getting acquainted with the activities of lobbying organizations, courts, election commissions in the United States was also very informative.
Living in a host family helped me understand the lifestyle, habits, and behavior of the American people. Although we had very positive impressions of the rule of law among the population, free worldview, and expression of thoughts, we noticed some kind of deterioration in perceptions of the family, in particular, the relationship between children and parents. This may be explained by the difference in family conception between them and us. In a nutshell, I think the trip to the U.S. was a positive contribution to broadening my knowledge and professional outlook
".

Well done Rasul! We hope you keep the Open World spirit.
