⚡️Empowering Youth for Successful Careers! USAID enhances the entrepreneurship skills and work readiness of youth through the Uzbekistan Youth Employment Skills (YES) activity. The YES activity introduces new in-school and afterschool entrepreneurship and economics curricula to pilot schools in the Fergana region. To bridge the gap between academia and the professional world, YES collaborates with local private sector representatives who voluntarily deliver guest lectures at the pilot schools. ℹ️ These lectures improve the learning outcomes of youth, providing them with the necessary knowledge and skills for successful career paths.

⚡️Meet Fotima Qasimova, a dedicated teacher of economics and entrepreneurship at School #16 in the city of Fergana. In August, she had the opportunity to participate in the USAID/Uzbekistan Youth Employment Skills (YES) Activity Training of Trainers program led by an international expert, focusing on the implementation of the new economics and entrepreneurship curriculum. Thanks to the superior collaboration of the YES Advisory Council, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education (MoPSE), Republican Education Center, Barkamol Avlod Children’s School, representatives from local governments, and other private partners, exciting YES activities and events are being planned for all youth particularly girls and young people with disability in Uzbekistan.

⭐️Meet Salimjon Jumaev, a teacher of basic economics, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work readiness skills at School #7 in OItiarik (a region in Fergana valley). Mr. Jumaev participated in a series of training programs conducted by USAID/Uzbekistan's Youth Employment Skills (YES) activity which focused on the implementation of the new economics and entrepreneurship curriculum. He is now successfully teaching students in the 8-11th grades in this subject at School #7. His work benefits students and contributes to the development and prosperity of his community!

👍🏻USAID’s Youth Employment Skills (YES) activity in Uzbekistan held the second round of Peer Learning Teacher Circles in pilot schools throughout the Fergana region in early February. 18 economic and entrepreneurship teachers participated in the learning circles. Teachers provided feedback on the updated in-school teacher learning materials for Grades 8 and 11 and discussed approaches to effective teaching habits. Through the YES Activity, USAID focuses on providing teacher training to empower educators with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively teach economics and entrepreneurship to young learners of Uzbekistan!

From August 13-15, Fergana City hosted an intensive training for USAID YES program teachers and mentors. Over three days, 18 teachers and 21 mentors, including local entrepreneurs, dived into the new 2024-2025 curriculum and explored innovative teaching methods like Universal Design Learning (UDL) and Positive Youth Development (PYD). 📝✨
Participants engaged in hands-on simulations, honed their lesson planning skills, and focused on developing essential soft skills. By the end of the training, they were certified and ready to make a big impact in their classrooms! 🌟👏
