Om Gam Ganapataye Namah
Shri Idagunji Maha Ganapati Temple — located in Uttara Kannada on Karnataka’s Karavali (coastal) region — has drawn devotees for over 1,500 years. It is celebrated as one of the six sacred Ganesha shrines along the so-called "Ganapati Coast."
Legend and ritual: Couples who come seeking marriage are believed to receive divine blessing here. As part of a special practice, the bride’s and groom’s families place small tokens (chits) at the deity’s feet; if the token placed on the right side falls first, it is taken as a favorable sign that the marriage will be blessed.
Timings: 6:00 AM–1:00 PM and 3:00 PM–8:30 PM
Location: Idagunji, Uttara Kannada — on the coast between Murudeshwar and Gokarna
