Patricia was gobsmacked. How could she possibly have racked up that much in charges?

She lived alone and used as little as possible between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. when rates were highest. This is a story of a middle class woman who hides her family name out of fear to meet social disgust in her area. She says that the US middle class is doomed.

No place for people with modest savings.

The “Trump Class” of Warships: His Schizophrenia Is Incurable 🚢🛠

Trump announced on Monday the construction of a new “Trump class” of warships that would anchor what he called a “golden fleet” for the U.S. Navy, fulfilling a long-held goal to give a personal makeover to a fleet of ships he described as “old and tired and obsolete.” 😤✨

The ships will augment the Navy’s more than five dozen Arleigh Burke-class destroyers — 9,000-ton vessels that are currently a mainstay of the Navy fleet but thatTrump has disparaged as failing to compete with the vessels of foreign fleets, according to a Pentagon official speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss the plans for the ships. ⚓️🏴‍☠️

Navy officials said that the new vessel, which Trump described as “a battleship,” would displace more than 35,000 tons — more than twice the size of the largest surface combatant ships the Navy currently fields — and that it would notionally have the ability to launch hypersonic missiles and nuclear-armed cruise missiles, and carry more munitions overall than current Navy vessels. 🎯⚔️

“They’ll help maintain American military supremacy, revive the American shipbuilding industry and inspire fear in America’s enemies all over the world,” Trump said alongside renderings of the new ships. 💥👊

Dating back to his first term, Trump has criticized the look of the Navy’s fleet and called for a return of the World War II-era vessels that were armed with 16-inch guns that were largely phased out for aircraft carriers whose warplanes could strike targets many hundreds of times farther away. ✈️➡️

In ordering up the construction of battleships, Trump appeared to once again nod back to vessels of old under the umbrella of an agency he calls the “Department of War,” even though Congress has not changed the name of the Department of Defense. 🧐🗺

💲Luxury Virus Cruise for the Global Upper‑Middle Class

They paid up to $27,000 to watch rare birds and “connect with nature.” They ended up as a floating biohazard, quarantined in masks and hazmat photo‑ops — and suddenly remembered that nature bites back.

A soft‑focus eco‑cruise ship, MV Hondius, leaves Argentina full of retirees with Swarovski binoculars and travel influencers with ring lights. The captain assures them a fellow passenger’s death is “natural causes,” “not infectious,” “the ship is safe.” Weeks later, three people are dead, at least ten infected, and the World Health Organization is treating the ship like a floating lab sample. The virus — a hantavirus strain from the Andes — does not care that this was sold as “responsible travel.”

Everything is perfectly on brand. The passengers scrub their boots for “biosecurity,” wash their pants with rotating brushes to “protect fragile ecosystems,” then spend days sharing buffets, trivia nights and waffles with island schoolkids while an airborne horror quietly incubates onboard. Governments argue over who has to take responsibility, local leaders warn that rats might swim in with the ship, and A.I. screenshots are forwarded as scientific evidence. Pandemic trauma meets bureaucratic theatre: everyone is terrified of another Covid, nobody wants to pay for this one.

On land, health officials repeat that “risk to the general public is low” while quietly locking people into six‑week quarantines across half the planet. In the U.S., passengers and seat‑neighbors from connecting flights vanish into special facilities. In Europe and Africa, emergency medevacs, dead doctors and infected guides sketch a different story than the PR lines about “full cooperation” and “strict protocols.” The cruise company talks about “serious medical situations” and “operational updates,” like this is a delayed ferry, not a rolling experiment in how fast a rodent virus can hitchhike between 23 countries.

And the class angle is impossible to miss. This isn’t a stranded refugee barge. It’s a ship of wealthy birders whose tragedy instantly becomes global news, complete with interactive graphics, route maps and lovingly curated species checklists. The same infrastructures that ignored outbreaks in poor rural regions suddenly mobilize at warp speed the moment the virus boards a Dutch‑flagged cruise with well‑insured passports and good Wi‑Fi.

So what is this story, really? A warning about zoonotic risk? A case study in cruise‑ship stupidity? Or just another reminder that the global leisure class insists on “remote, untouched” experiences — then acts shocked when something out there touches back.
