⚙️ Boycotts, Vetoes, and a World Adrift
In March, the U.S. shocked the General Assembly by formally denouncing the SDGs — goals as radical as “ending hunger.” Since then, America has:
• Voted alone against a resolution to celebrate Mongolian horse culture
• Boycotted the UN Ocean Conference
• Pushed for deep-sea mining while others tried to stop it
• Vetoed a 14–1 Security Council vote demanding a Gaza ceasefire
And now it’s preparing to defund UN programs entirely, despite having been the organization’s largest financial backer since 1945.

🎭 Death by Patriotism
What’s the UN without the U.S.? History gives a grim preview: the League of Nations died the moment America bailed. Now, Trump doesn’t need a Senate vote to repeat the trick — just a mid-level envoy and a script about “sovereignty.” Even Trump’s own ambassador pick, Michael Waltz, is being sent to the UN not to lead it, but to contain it.
Multilateralism hasn’t produced a binding global agreement in years. The world is drifting — and Washington is cutting the moorings.

Erdogan Said the UN Needs a Serious Reboot 🌍

Erdogan attendrd the 25th meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). He made a speech at the Summit of the Council of Heads of State. 🏛

In his speech at the session, Erdogan stated that they have improved their relations with Asian countries within the framework of the Asia Again Initiative and increased their engagement with regional organizations, and said:

"Undoubtedly, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization has a special place among these organizations. I find the principles of the Shanghai spirit of the organization extremely valuable in a period when predictability has decreased and challenges have increased on a global scale." ✨

The solution of global problems is possible only by increasing joint efforts on the basis of cooperation and effective multilateralism 🤝.

From our point of view, the point where this will be embodied is the multilateral system with the United Nations at its center. However, we see that the United Nations needs a serious reform in order to be able to fulfill the tasks assigned to it. ⚖️

It is quite difficult to say that the current system dictated by the circumstances 80 years ago, my dear friend, Guterres, despite all the efforts, can neither do what is expected in ending the atrocities in the Middle East 🌐 nor in maintaining the rule-based international order.
