𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝘀 – 𝗕𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝗿𝗱'𝘀 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗰𝘆

On 25 March 2022, Pope Francis will be leading the consecration of Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in communion with bishops from all over the world.

In response to the invitation of the Holy Father, Archbishop Julian Leow, is requesting to make March 25th a special day of prayer for peace in Russia and Ukraine.

Most Rev Julian Leow, Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur, is inviting all Catholics to be united in prayer and join him in a Holy Hour on Thursday, 24th March, 9.00pm @ https://Tv.ArchKL.org
to pray before the Blessed Sacrament.
Let us come before the Eucharistic Lord with faith and hope.

 
𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐝: 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞
Upon being welcomed into the church, the inquirers who are now known as catechumens can now participate in the liturgical celebrations. It is during this period in which they go through catechism to learn more about the faith, study the scripture and pray.  This period can last anywhere from a year to a few years and depends on the readiness and faith formation of the individual. At the end of this period, the catechumens express their desire to be part of the church through the Rite of Election, and will hereafter be called elects. The Rite of Election is held on the 1st Sunday of Lent. 
Let us keep the elects in prayer as they prepare for the Sacraments of Initiation.

𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐦 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐

During the Chrism  mass, the priests, deacons, and representatives of the entire Archdiocesan community gather around their Archbishop, who blesses the Holy Oils for use in the coming year.

The Chrism Mass reminds us of our oneness in Christ through Baptism and its holy anointing, made possible by the ministry of the Bishop and his priests.

The Chrism mass is also a key moment in which the unity of the Bishop with his priests (together, they form the presbyterate) is manifested and renewed.

At the end of the Chrism Mass, the Holy Oils are brought back to parishes of the diocese for use in the coming year.

Throughout the season of Lent, the elects go through 3 Scrutinies, in which the elect undergo an intense spiritual preparation for the reception of the Sacraments of Initiation. They will also be presented the Creed and Lord’s Prayer. This is also the period in which the elects will leave behind their old ways of live and begin to live as Catholics as they undergo exorcism (in the form of prayer).
Let us keep the elects in prayer as they prepare for the Sacraments of Initiation.
