Laudato Si’ Week began as a way to celebrate the first anniversary of Pope Francis’ world-changing papal encyclical letter, “Laudato Si’: On Care For Our Common Home.”
Since then, the annual celebration has become a way for all Catholics to unite and rejoice in the progress we’ve made in bringing Laudato Si’ to life and to commit ourselves to further prayer and action for our common home.
This year, with the theme of “Listening and Journeying Together” Catholics on six continents will work on “bringing the human family together to protect our common home” (LS 13), which is the guiding Laudato Si’ quote for the weeklong celebration.
Catholics across the globe will unite their communities in action and learn more about how Laudato Si’ offers a blueprint on how to tackle the climate crisis. Globally, Catholics will come together as one family in prayer and action. In conjunction with this noble act, Archdiocese Creation Justice Commission has lined up a few programs for parishes. Kindly view the video for further details.

WHY GO FOR CONFESSION?
The Sacrament of Penance is one of the most integral parts of our Catholic lives. Reconciliation absolves us from sins and is regarded as necessary to obtain divine forgiveness. But why do we go for confession with a priest and how does divine forgiveness happen when confession is required on a frequent basis? Catholics At Home this Friday, 20 May at 8:00 pm, seeks a better understanding from Fr John Anandan Ofm Cap. of the significance of confession and how we can make the sacrament of reconciliation more meaningful in our lives.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗮 𝗶𝗻 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝘆 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁 is the oldest of all novenas since it was first made at the direction of Our Lord Himself when He sent His apostles back to Jerusalem to await the coming of the Holy Spirit on the first Pentecost. It is still the only novena officially prescribed by the Church.
This Novena begins on the day after the Solemnity of the Ascension, Friday of the 6th Week of Easter, even if the Solemnity of the Ascension is transferred to the 7th Sunday.
Each day of prayer includes an introduction, a verse from the Pentecost Sequence (Veni Sancte Spiritus), a lesson on the Holy Spirit or the Gifts or Fruits of the Holy Spirit, a particular prayer for the day, and a set of recited prayers.
