@_FBI_ Director Kash Patel announces the arrest of a government contractor who allegedly stole over $46 million in cryptocurrency from the U.S. Marshals Service.
The individual, who had authorized access to government assets, is accused of illicitly transferring digital funds meant to be held or auctioned by federal authorities. The investigation revealed a pattern of unauthorized movements across blockchain wallets tied to the defendant.
Authorities emphasize this case underscores ongoing vulnerabilities in managing seized crypto assets—and the need for tighter oversight.
