🇺🇸 A MAJOR U.S. CRYPTO BILL FACES A SENATE TEST NEXT WEEK
The U.S. Senate has scheduled a procedural vote on the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act for Sept. 15.
The legislation aims to establish a clearer federal framework for digital assets and define how oversight is divided between the SEC and CFTC.
The bill already advanced through the Senate Banking Committee by a 15–9 vote.
Next week’s vote is not final passage.
It is a vote on whether the Senate should move forward with debate — and it will require 60 votes to advance.
For Bitcoin, clearer market-structure rules could directly affect the exchanges, custodians and financial institutions building regulated BTC services in the U.S.

Corporate Bitcoin accumulation continues, with Strive now holding more than 24,500 BTC on its balance sheet.

🏦 BLOCK SEEKS U.S. BANK CHARTER FOR BITCOIN CUSTODY
Block has applied to establish a federally regulated national trust bank called Builders Bank & Trust.
If approved by the OCC, the bank would provide custody and fiduciary services involving assets including Bitcoin and stablecoins.
Importantly, this would not be a traditional bank:
• No customer deposits
• No lending
• Federal OCC supervision
• Focus on custody and related services
The application does not mean approval is guaranteed.
But it shows Bitcoin custody continuing to move deeper into regulated U.S. financial infrastructure.

⛏ CLEANSPARK MINES 593 BTC — BUT ENDS AUGUST WITH LESS BITCOIN
Bitcoin miner CleanSpark produced 593 BTC during August.
But its treasury still fell:
13,931 BTC → 13,703 BTC
Why?
During the month CleanSpark reported:
• 77 BTC sold at spot
• 500 BTC sold through call exercises
• 244 BTC sold in connection with a delta-neutral basis trade
That totals 821 BTC disposed of during the period.
This is an important distinction: falling miner reserves do not automatically mean miner capitulation.
In this case, a significant portion of the activity was tied to the company’s broader treasury and derivatives strategy.

🌍 REPORT: IRAN TURNS TO BITCOIN AND STABLECOINS AS SANCTIONS TIGHTEN
Iranian businesses are increasingly using crypto — including Bitcoin — to keep international trade moving as financial restrictions intensify, according to the Financial Times.
The report says Iran’s central bank has quietly relaxed some foreign-currency controls and encouraged traders to find alternative ways to repatriate funds.
Crypto is reportedly being used to settle some cross-border transactions, with stablecoins playing a major role alongside BTC.
Important distinction:
This is NOT Iran adopting Bitcoin as legal tender or officially declaring BTC a national reserve asset.
It is another example of Bitcoin being used as an alternative settlement rail when access to the traditional financial system becomes restricted.

📊 BITCOIN’S NEXT MACRO TEST LANDS TODAY
U.S. producer inflation data arrives today at 13:30 Portugal time.
The August Producer Price Index is the first major inflation reading ahead of tomorrow’s CPI report and next week’s Federal Reserve meeting.
Why BTC traders care:
PPI measures price pressure earlier in the supply chain and can shift expectations around interest rates.
Hotter inflation can strengthen the case for tighter monetary policy.
Softer inflation can reduce some of that pressure.
Neither outcome guarantees a Bitcoin move — but with the Fed meeting on Sept. 15–16, today’s data is one of the key macro inputs markets will be watching.

🏦 SCOTIABANK BUILDS A STRUCTURED PRODUCT AROUND BLACKROCK’S BITCOIN ETF
The Bank of Nova Scotia is issuing a new structured note today linked directly to shares of BlackRock’s IBIT Bitcoin ETF.
The product has a $1,000 minimum investment and offers a contingent quarterly coupon equivalent to 14.75% annually when specified conditions are met.
But this is NOT a guaranteed-yield Bitcoin product.
If IBIT falls below defined thresholds, coupons can be missed — and investors can lose a substantial portion or even all of their principal.
Morgan Stanley Wealth Management is involved in distributing the securities.
The bigger story: Wall Street is moving beyond simply offering spot Bitcoin ETFs and increasingly building traditional structured financial products around BTC exposure.

⚡ INSTITUTIONS BEGIN PUTTING BTC TO WORK THROUGH STACKS
Stacks says its Genesis Bond is now live, with 21Shares, HashKey Cloud, UTXO Management and Sypher Capital participating in the first institutional bonding period.
The mechanism allows BTC to remain on Bitcoin L1 while participating in a yield system built through Stacks.
21Shares, HashKey and UTXO participated self-custodially, according to Stacks.
Important distinction:
This does NOT mean Bitcoin itself has switched to staking.
Bitcoin’s proof-of-work consensus has not changed.
The yield mechanism exists at the Stacks layer while the participating BTC remains on the Bitcoin blockchain.
Still, it is a notable experiment in making institutional BTC productive without sending the underlying coins to another blockchain.

📈 BITCOIN CONFIRMS A GOLDEN CROSS
Bitcoin’s 50-day moving average has crossed above its 200-day moving average.
That formation is known as a “golden cross” — a widely watched signal showing shorter-term momentum overtaking the longer-term trend.
But it is not a prediction.
Historical Bitcoin golden crosses have produced mixed results, including false signals.
So rather than treating the cross as proof that BTC must move higher, traders will be watching whether price can actually maintain the stronger market structure that produced it.
The signal matters.
Confirmation matters more.

📊 BITCOIN’S BIG CPI TEST ARRIVES TODAY
U.S. consumer inflation data for August lands today at 13:30 Portugal time.
The release comes one day after producer prices rose 0.4% in August and 5.4% over the past year.
With the Federal Reserve meeting on Sept. 15–16, today’s CPI reading is one of the final major inflation inputs policymakers and markets will receive beforehand.
For Bitcoin, the key question is not simply whether CPI is “good” or “bad.”
It is whether the data strengthens or weakens the case for tighter monetary policy.
That can directly affect yields, the dollar and risk appetite across markets.

⚡ CORE LIGHTNING’S SECURITY EMBARGO ENDS TODAY
Core Lightning released version 26.06.7 on Aug. 28 to fix confirmed security vulnerabilities.
But there was an unusual twist:
The project temporarily withheld the source-code patch for two weeks.
Why?
Publishing the patch immediately could have helped attackers identify the vulnerabilities before enough node operators upgraded.
That disclosure window reaches its scheduled end today, Sept. 11.
Core Lightning operators were urged to upgrade to 26.06.7 before the source became public.
Important distinction:
This concerns Core Lightning software — one implementation of the Lightning Network.
It does NOT mean Bitcoin’s base layer was compromised.

🏦 BITCOIN ETFs LOG THIRD STRAIGHT OUTFLOW DAY
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $282.7M in net outflows on Sept. 10.
That extends the current streak to three consecutive sessions:
• Sept. 8: -$46.6M
• Sept. 9: -$120.2M
• Sept. 10: -$282.7M
Total withdrawn across the three sessions:
-$449.5M
ARK 21Shares’ ARKB led Thursday’s selling with $164.3M in outflows.
But the bigger picture is more balanced than the headline suggests:
September ETF flows are still approximately +$537M net despite the three-day reversal.
Institutional demand has cooled sharply — but it has not disappeared.

🚨 TREZOR WARNS 347,000 EMAIL ADDRESSES MAY BE EXPOSED TO PHISHING
Trezor says a breach at third-party email provider Brevo affected its newsletter database of roughly 347,000 addresses.
Attackers used the compromised system to send a fake security warning from Trezor’s mailing infrastructure.
The email claimed a nonexistent “STM32 Entropy Vulnerability” and directed users toward a malicious app designed to obtain wallet backups.
Important:
Trezor says no other Trezor system was affected.
The hardware wallet itself was NOT compromised by this incident.
The real risk is phishing.
Never enter a Bitcoin wallet recovery phrase into an app, website or email link.

🏦 BITCOIN ETFs END THE WEEK WITH FOUR STRAIGHT OUTFLOW DAYS
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs closed every trading session last week in the red.
Net flows:
• Sept. 8: -$46.6M
• Sept. 9: -$120.2M
• Sept. 10: -$282.7M
• Sept. 11: -$13.2M
Total: -$462.7M
The important context: September is still approximately +$524M net after the powerful inflows seen earlier in the month.
So the picture has changed — institutional demand cooled sharply last week, but September has not flipped negative overall.
With U.S. markets reopening today, the next question is whether ETF demand stabilizes or the outflow streak continues.
