🟢 Foundation stone laid for India’s first port-based e-methanol production facility at Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), Kandla, Gujarat.
🟢 Joint initiative of DPA + Assam Petro-Chemicals Ltd (APCL).
🟢 Total investment: ₹2,300 crore in a 76:24 contribution ratio.

📍 Two-Phase Capacity
🟢 Phase I: 50 tonnes/day → ₹1,200 crore
🟢 Phase II: 100 tonnes/day → ₹1,100 crore
🟢 The e-methanol will support vessels operating on the Asia–Europe International Trade Corridor.
🟢 The project will also develop a green-fuel ecosystem covering transportation, storage and supply around Kandla.

📍 What is E-Methanol?
🟢 E-methanol is a low-carbon form of methanol produced using renewable energy + captured/recycled CO₂.
🟢 It can be used as a low-carbon fuel in shipping, besides applications in heavy industry and chemical manufacturing.

🟢 1. Green Hydrogen: Renewable electricity → electrolysis of H₂O → H₂ + O₂.

The day highlights the need to ensure longer lives are healthy, dignified, productive, and equitable for all.

According to the Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) 2025, the literacy rate in urban areas reached 89% for those aged 7 years and above, and 88% for those aged 5 years and above. Among urban residents aged 7 years and above, literacy reached 93.1% for males and 84.8% for females. In rural areas, the literacy rate among those aged 7 years and above was 77.4%, and 76.4% for those aged 5 years and above. Among the rural population aged 7 years and above, the literacy rate was 84.8% for males and 70.3% for females. The overall Literacy rate of the country is 81.1 % as per this survey.
