🔆 Q. Discuss how art and literature influenced India’s freedom struggle.
(10 Marks | 150 Words)

📍 Introduction
✅ Art and literature became powerful instruments of India’s freedom struggle by creating national consciousness, exposing colonial exploitation and mobilising people across linguistic and social boundaries.

📍 Role of Art and Literature in the Freedom Struggle

✅ Evoking emotions: Paintings, poems, songs and plays portrayed colonial oppression and popular suffering, generating empathy and resistance among the masses.

✅ Creating nationalist consciousness: Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay’s Anandamath and Vande Mataram provided powerful symbols of patriotism and sacrifice.

✅ Spreading political awareness: Newspapers and journals such as Bande Mataram, Yugantar and Harijan disseminated nationalist ideas and criticised colonial policies.

✅ Overcoming linguistic barriers: Regional-language literature and visual/performing arts enabled ordinary people to participate in the national movement.

✅ Reviving cultural identity: The Bengal School of Art, led by Abanindranath Tagore, rejected colonial artistic conventions and revived Indian aesthetic traditions. His Bharat Mata became a powerful nationalist image.

✅ Mobilising women: Works such as Devi Chaudhurani presented women as active protagonists in resistance, while figures like Sarojini Naidu used literature and public life to encourage political participation.

✅ Building collective identity: Nationalist songs, poetry and theatre transformed cultural expression into symbols of unity and resistance.

📍 Conclusion
✅ Thus, art and literature functioned as a form of cultural resistance, transforming anti-colonial sentiment into a shared national consciousness. They complemented political movements by uniting diverse communities around the idea of Indian nationalism.

🔆 Q. Explain various types of revolutions that have taken place in Agriculture after Independence in India. How have these revolutions helped in poverty alleviation and food security in India?
(10 Marks | 150 Words)

📍 Introduction
✅ Post-Independence, India adopted technological and institutional interventions in agriculture to overcome food shortages, raise rural incomes and strengthen food and nutritional security. This gave rise to several sector-specific agricultural revolutions.

📍 Major Agricultural Revolutions

✅ Green Revolution: Introduced HYV seeds, irrigation, fertilisers and pesticides, substantially increasing wheat and rice production and reducing dependence on food imports.

✅ White Revolution: Operation Flood (1970) transformed dairy production through cooperatives, improved breeding, veterinary services and market linkages.

✅ Blue Revolution: Promoted inland and marine fisheries and aquaculture, increasing fish production and fisher incomes.

✅ Yellow Revolution: Focused on oilseed production and reducing edible-oil import dependence.

✅ Golden Revolution: Boosted horticulture, including fruits, vegetables, floriculture and plantation crops.

✅ Golden Fibre Revolution: Promoted jute production, while the Silver Fibre Revolution focused on cotton.

📍 Contribution to Poverty Alleviation & Food Security

✅ Food security: Green Revolution enabled India to move from chronic food shortages towards self-sufficiency in food grains, reducing dependence on imports.

✅ Nutritional security: Dairy, fisheries and horticulture diversified diets and improved access to protein, vitamins and minerals.

✅ Rural employment: Allied sectors such as dairy, fisheries and horticulture created non-farm and farm-linked employment.

✅ Women empowerment: Dairy cooperatives and allied activities expanded women’s participation and income opportunities in rural areas.

✅ Rural poverty reduction: Higher productivity, marketable surpluses and diversified livelihoods increased farm and allied-sector incomes.

📍 Conclusion
✅ These revolutions transformed India from a food-deficit economy into a major agricultural producer. The way forward is an Evergreen/Rainbow Revolution based on climate-resilient technology, sustainable resource use, diversification and inclusive value chains to achieve lasting food and nutritional security.
