🗞Telegram is anything but secure; even Facebook is safer, says Signal founder
He went on to say that in this regard, even Facebook's Messenger and WhatsApp offer greater privacy than Telegram. Both of these apps, run by the company now rebranded as Meta, offer at least end-to-end encryption for all text messages sent through their platforms.
Telegram stores all the data ever sent through the app in its cloud, in a completely exposed format: texts, shared media, contacts, everything is essentially free game for anyone who cares to look.
This is a reality that's considered unacceptable even by Facebook's standards, which is known for its lack of care when it comes to personal privacy online. Even Messenger offers the minimum standard end-to-end encryption protocol for data stored on its servers. However, anyone with access to Telegram's serves has direct access to the entire database of users' unprotected data.

🗞Is Samsung preparing to say goodbye to Android?
The transition from Android OS to Fuchsia isn’t something that Samsung came up with on its own, but rather, it’s all a part of Google’s master plan to switch to a new platform built from the ground up. Unlike Android OS, Fuchsia doesn’t use the Linux kernel but new code called Zircon.
Google is developing Fuchsia to run on a wide variety of smart products, from wearables to smartphones, tablets, computers, and IoT. It was already used for the Nest hub as a pilot run.
Assuming that Google makes this a reality and pushes Fuchsia to the forefront in the next few years, Samsung won’t be the only OEM to drop Android OS for some, if not all of its Android-running devices. Other OEMs will have to follow or be left behind.
Samsung already appears to be involved with Fuchsia’s development, this may give it a leg up over its competitors who aren’t. Samsung will familiarize itself with the new Fuchsia OS early on.

🗞Microsoft confirms another Windows 11 issue, promises fix in a future release
Microsoft confirmed that the bug occurs when Win32 APIs return unexpected information or errors under specific conditions. This is an issue with Windows 11 itself and updating your third-party apps will not make a difference in most cases. As per the tech giant, Windows 11 bug does not affect all colour management programs are affected.
Microsoft expects colour profile options in Settings and Control Panel to work as expected in the stable builds of the OS.
A future release of Windows 11, which is expected to launch in late January, will resolve issues with HDR or image editing apps. If you’re a member of the Insider Program then you’ll have access to the fix in newer builds. As per reports on Feedback Hub, the monitor colour rendering bug appears to be completely fixed when running these preview builds.

💡Use the Chrome Task Manager
Since each open tab runs it its own sandbox to help with browser stability, it can be difficult to see the overall system resources being used. For example, in the Windows Task Manager you will see multiple instances of Google Chrome running for each open tab.
Use the Chrome Task Manager to show you how much memory and CPU resources each open tab and extension you have installed uses. To open the Task Manager, press Shift+Esc or click the Google Chrome menu icon Chrome menu icon 3 in the top-right corner of the window, select Tools, and then Task Manager. If you want to get real geeky, click the stats for nerds link at the bottom of the Task Manager.

🗞Instagram says it will focus on videos, messages, and creators in 2022
CEO Adam Mosseri has now shared what will be the app’s key priorities in 2022.
To remain relevant, Instagram will double down on its focus on video. This means you can expect many more Reels functions and a timeline that prioritizes videos over any other content. This change comes with TikTok still growing year over year while being the only app that is not from Meta to have more than 3 billion downloads globally.
Instagram said that “Video” was the new home for IGTV, feed videos, and live streams. As of now, this feature appears right beside Reels, but maybe the company is still planning to integrate all of its video formats, as none of its apps that weren’t Instagram took off, just like Threads.
Another focus on Instagram in 2022 will be transparency. Even though people still find this claim sketchy, Mosseri has pushed forward to inform people how Instagram works.

🗞Intel graphics cards are likely to find their way into Chromebooks
The Intel Arc A380 graphics card, which is one of the DG2 models, has almost as much power as the Nvidia GTX 1650S. Intel’s new graphics card capability has been achieved by UserBenchmark, which shows the power of modern games with 1080p settings and 60 frames per second. Also, the relatively low power consumption of about 100 watts will be suitable for this laptop card.
Chrome Unboxed reported that it was testing a Chromebook with AMD dGPU. The Chromebook was never released, but it was probably the beginning of Google’s test of the graphics card on the Chromebook. Then the internet search giant supports the foundation created dGPUs in later chromebooks.
The graphics card enters the circuit when needed, thus reducing power consumption and increasing battery life.
The Virgil project provides virtual graphics card support for OpenGL and Vulkan, but VFIO-PCI provides direct hardware access.

🗞Telegram announces Reactions, Spoilers, QR codes, and more in a big update
now the messaging app is rebranding some of these interactive emojis as Reactions. You can use them to react to other messages by double-tapping on a message to send a thumb up, or tapping once (or holding on iOS) to choose from a list of emojis to react to.
The hidden text functionality is well-known and used in many chat services and forums (such as Reddit for example). Now you can select the text you want to hide and choose the new “Spoiler” formatting from the pop-up menu. The selected text will then be masked and hidden away from prying eyes.
Message translate feature allows users to quickly tap on a message and (you’ve guessed it right) translate it to another language.
You can now generate QR codes to show others your favorite blogs, clubs, and pages.

Developed by the EFF (Electronic Frontier Foundation), Privacy Badger learns to identify and block invisible trackers used by websites that follow your activity on the Internet. Unlike ad-blockers or other privacy add-ons, it does not require special configuration or a predefined list of trackers. Instead, it uses an algorithm that identifies new tracking technologies and those that are well-known and blocks them all.
