🗞Twitter will reportedly keep a record of tweets after the new Edit button is used

Twitter earlier this month confirmed that it has been working on the long-awaited Edit button, which at first sounded like an April Fool’s joke. While details about this new feature are unclear, it seems that at least the social network will keep a record of original tweets even after the Edit button is used.As reported by app researcher Jane Manchun Wong, tweets will remain “unchanged” even with the introduction of the Edit Tweet feature. Wong explains based on her findings that instead of editing the original tweet, the platform will create a new tweet using a different ID.More than that, Twitter will keep a record of the original tweet, as well as any previous edits the user has made. While we don’t know what exactly Twitter will do with this record, it’s not hard to imagine that other Twitter users will have access to previous versions of an edited tweet.

🗞Instagram Testing New 'Templates' Feature for Editing Reels

Instagram is testing a new tool called Templates, which will allow users to replicate pre-existing video formats with their own images and clips on Reels, according to Business Insider. The feature, which is currently only available to a small group of creators, mimics the nature of TikTok‘s Templates, which lets creators upload their own images into a preset format.“We are always working on new ways to make Reels simpler to create. We are testing the ability for you to make a reel using an existing Template from another reel,” a Meta spokesperson confirmed in an email via TechCrunch.Developer Alessandro Paluzzi previously discovered a version of the forthcoming feature in the app’s code earlier this year, before Josephine Hill, a DC-based marketer and influencer, tweeted about the feature in March.

🗞Twitter will suspend accounts tweeting about conspiracy theory group QAnon

on Tuesday it would permanently suspend accounts that violate its policies while tweeting about QAnon, a fringe group that claims "deep-state" traitors are plotting against President Donald Trump.
Twitter, which announced the change on its Twitter Safety page, said it would not serve content and accounts associated with QAnon in trends and recommendations, and would block URLs associated with the group from being shared on the platform. The suspension, which will be rolled out this week, is expected to impact about 150,000 accounts globally, Twitter said. It said that more than 7,000 accounts have been removed in the last several weeks for violating the company’s rules against spam, platform manipulation and ban evasion.
The suspensions will be applied to accounts “engaged in violations of our multi-account policy, coordinating abuse around individual victims, or are attempting to evade a previous suspension.

🗞Big Twitter accounts on the left are losing followers and those on the right are gaining since the Musk buyout was sealed

A day after Elon Musk sealed the $44 billion deal to buy Twitter, prominent users on the platform have been seeing wild swings in their follower counts.
One of the first users to report a loss in followers was Shannon Watts, the founder of Moms Demand Action, an organization advocating for stronger gun control. She tweeted “I’ve lost over 300 followers so far today.… Is Twitter finally cleaning up trolls?” Author Chuck Wendig responded, “I’ve lost about 1000 and I believe it’s people deleting accounts. That’s anecdotal though.”
Soon, a flood of other prominent, blue-ticked users came forward with the same complaint. Senior adviser and staff secretary to President Joe Biden Neera Tanden, gun control activist David Hogg, and Star Wars actor Mark Hamill all tweeted out that they had lost several thousand followers since the deal was announced.
