Income in the Cosanta network
The project Cosanta was launched on July 16, 2021 13:32:00 UTC. The genesis time of the core network block was specifically identified as the launch of Apollo 11, which took place onJuly 16, 1969 13:32:00 UTC.
The network reward for the first blocks has gradually increased and started at 0.01 COSA and will gradually increase to 50 COSA per block (the first block with a reward of 50 COSA is only expected on July 8, 2026 11:35:57 UTC).
The first 100,000 blocks were mined with CPU only using the COSA algorithm (X17 + GHOST + LYRA2). Initially, the miner was built into the Cosanta Core wallet, and later the first miner appeared - a fork from cpuminer-multi. Then there was support in 3rd party miners like SRBMiner, but it was later removed due to increased difficulty due to Proof-of-stake (PoS) activation.
The first PoS block was mined on January 16, 2022 00:09:00 UTC and the last block, known as Proof of work (PoW) 248121, was mined on October 13, 2022 02:01:31 UTC, but PoW is still available and possible mining pools will appear soon, which can be found on the miningPoolStats page. This is possible provided that the community can port the miner code to GPU or FPGA, since the network difficulty is very high for CPU 2358.26 and is 71.578 GHash/s , and one PC produces approximately 20-80 kHash/s.
