Social media giant X has expanded its Cashtag feature by partnering with the Kraken exchange. Starting Sept. 16, US users searching for tickers like $BTC or $ETH can access direct trading links within their social feed.
When a user taps a Cashtag, X displays a real-time price chart and a direct link to Kraken. This allows users to jump straight to the Kraken app or website to sign in and complete a purchase without needing to leave the platform to find an exchange manually.
X is not becoming an exchange itself; the partnership aims to shorten the distance between discovering an asset and buying it. eToro launched a similar integration in 2023, which saw 420 million searches in its first three months, proving high user interest in social-linked trading.
